Im Pregnant!!

I just found out I'm pregnant with my second little bean!! I'm so, shocked and confused and excited. I calculated my due date and I should be about 4 weeks. When is a good time to contact a doctor??

P.s. I ask because with my daughter I didn't find out I was pregnant until my 2nd trimester.

Congratulations! Usually you go to your family doc first and they refer you to one I believe. That might just be how the military works though so I could be wrong...

Decide an OB now is probably best so they can be with you for your pregnancy as long as possible. Heart beat is detected after week 7, and most OBs wont do an ultrasound til the latter part of the 8-12wk period, but it is possible they will do one to check for the embryonic sac. They will also draw blood and take a urine sample, as well as a quick medical history and weigh-In. Good luck and cobgratulations on your new baby.

O awesome thank you! At 8 weeks they could detect the heartbeat? I'm too excited for that. Is this an appt I would set up with my family physician or should we start deciding on an OBGYN??
