I'M 12WKS TODAY, AND AT MY LAST APPT MY DR TOLD MY HUBBY AND I THAT IN 8WKS WE WILL KNOW THE SEX. BUT I'M SO IMPATIENT, IS THERE ANYWAY TO FIND OUT AHEAD OF TIME? SOMETHING BESIDES THOSE WIVES TALES OR GENDER KITS.

The problem with earlier ultrasounds it's that you may not be able to see gender and many doctors do not like you to have many ultrasounds, so you don't want to miss out on your chance. I was much like you, but I waited to 20 almost 21 to be sure. I also believe in instinct. I knew I would have a girl, and I am certain this one is a boy.

Absolutely none of the old wives tales worked in my case, including the Chinese gender prediction chart--every single one said I was having a girl and at my ultrasound it was quite obvious I'm having a boy. =)  The reason my doctor waited until 20 weeks is because sometimes it is hard to tell for sure before that point (although usually at 18 weeks it's pretty definitive) and my insurance only covered for one ultrasound--had we not been able to determine the gender, I would have had to pay for it out of pocket.  You can always pay to get a 4d scan done earlier than 20 weeks like some of the pp have stated, but if you want to save your money, then I would wait til 20 weeks to find out for sure. =)

THANKS LADIES. AND SAMIE, I DON'T TRUST THE ”CARRYING” METHOD, I HAVE A FRIEND RIGHT NOW WHO IS HAVING A GIRL AND IS CARRYING SO LOW SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE'S ON TOP OF HER VAGINA. AND I WORKED WITH A WOMAN WHO CARRIED IN HER CHEST AND HAD A 10LB BOY, I THINK THAT'S ALL BASED ON YOUR BODY. BUT IT DOES STAND TRUE FOR SOME PEOPLE.

get a 4d scan, they expensive but you'll know 100%!! wait till your 14weeks and go have one :) x

It depends on your doctor. I'm finding our at 17 weeks, but some won't check until 20. Idk why. My doctor says between 17-18weeks is the best time to measure anatomy.

The earliest u can know the gender is at 13w depending on ur babys position.. and on where u get the u/s. Otherwise u might have to wait until  ur 18th week

they say if your belly hangs low its a boy , if it high its a gurl , thats what they say or you use a gold necklace and it it goes left its a boy if it goes right its a girl .
