L&D update and UTI question........

ok, i'm 36wks and 4 days now (yay!!).  last night after we put the kids to bed we were watching tv and i was waiting for the baby to start kicking like he always does at that time...  and i only felt him move like 2 times before we laid down to go to bed (about an hour later).  and i had also been feeling the sensation that i could possibly be getting a UTI (but we still BD'd anyways!).  then this morning when i woke up, before i got out of the bed i only felt him move once.  then i got up and did mine and the kids morning routine and i still really hadn't felt a lot of movement (about another hour again)...  so i made a cup of coffee and got a donut (something sweet to help him a little?) and whithin another hour i had felt him move maybe 3 times.  then a little after that he started moving a little more frequently, but still not his usual self!  and i've still been having the feeling all day like i'm getting a UTI.
when dh got home from work today i called the doc's office just to let them know and honestly thought that they would just tell me to call them if anything gets worse or if the baby's movements slow down a lot again...  but they didn't... they wanted me to go to l&d to be checked.  well the baby was completely fine and moving all over the place so that was a relief...  but my urine was negative for a uti!  but she said there was a trace of blood in my urine.

ok...  my question...  can i feel like i'm getting a uti before it will show up in a urine test?  i do not have burning when i actually go to the bathroom.  but i have the pressure and slight burning sensation that's constant with the feeling that i need to go more frequently and then only really pee a little ( but still no burning when i actually pee )...  does anyone think i could still have one maybe and its just not showing up?  or is there another reason for what i'm feeling?

sorry so long guys!!!!  :)

oh yea, and i have a regular scheduled appt tomorrow and an u/s also to be checking for growth!

It could be, I am not 100% sure of it. But it might be a UTI too, sometimes, I do know that they start up without showing up. My mom, who is a nurse, said the best thing for a UTI without meds is cranberry juice and lots of water. So if I was you I would get some cranberry juice (can be mixed with apple juice etc) and drink some. Let me know what the doctor says.

thanks!  :)  i'll update after my appt tomorrow, too...  i definately know the baby's laying on my bladder but do you think that would also be the reason for the slight burning sensation i'm feeling also?

It might just be that your lil one is lying on your bladder, but I may be wrong. In the last few weeks of pregnancy the lil ones usually don't move as much since there is not that much room to move. I hate I can't help you any more. Good Luck tomorrow! Hugs :o)
