Light Bleeding/spotting

Hi, I am about 5, nearly 6 weeks pregnant and last night I was in the hospital due to some light pinkish-brown bleeding. They did a blood, urine, and pelvic exam to which I learned that my cervix was closed very tightly and no urine/blood infections and an HCG of about 785. This is the first hcg test I have had, so the Dr. said it's hard to say if that is a good lvl or not. I have had no pain, fevers, chills, vomiting etc to signal a miscarriage, only the light bleeding/spotting. It started around 9:00 last night and continued lighter and heavier (always fairly light) up until now (about 2:30) the following day. The doctor said she could make no promises because it was so early, but everything seemed okay so far and looked mostly good.

Anyone have any idea or similar experiences they could share? Any informtion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

thank you so much both of you, of course no promises can be made, but hearing some feedback has helped alot. Going back friday, or possibly sooner for more bloodwork and an ultrasound, will post back with more info. :)

i had the same experience a few weeks ago. i had no pain and the bleeding was not heavy, i passed a lump about 1.5cm long and i was certain it was baby although i had no pain and bleeding wasnt heavy. went to the hospital and had an ultrasound done (then, 6 weeks exactly) and just saw the sac, a perfect circle but empty. did not bleed after, this happened over about 4 hours. had another ultrasound at just before 8 weeks and saw my current profile picture. do not understand how i passed a lump, i thought it was maybe from implantation or something. i am now 9 weeks, ill and no bleeding since.

as long as you are not having pain or bleeding a lot, it should be fine although this is not a guarantee as some people bleed a little for a few days then they get the pain. just take it easy for the next few days and everything should be fine.

i heard that some women bleed around the time their period is due but like you, its hard to blame that in what would be the middle of the cycle. if your cervix is closed, it sounds promising. do not stress about it, it may make it happen. good luck and keep me posted :) xo

Sometimes women just bleed. All you can really do is wait and see how your levels go up. I've seen people go BOTH ways with this. So it's hard to say.
