Anytime you bleed in pregnancy they give it a 50-50 chance. My first pregnancy I just spotted at 6 weeks and ended up having a miscarriage then my 2nd pregnancy I was bleeding full out worse than a period for 5 weeks almost everyday and it pulled through. The best thing honestly to do is to contact your doctor and get checked out to make sure everything is ok. Best of luck I hope everything works out and I'll keep you in my prayers.
I don't want to scare you, because what you are experiencing CAN BE normal. But, to answer your question, yes... this is how my 2nd miscarriage started. I really hope that is not the case with you, but if it is... just let me know if you have any questions. I had pink when I wiped one day and then nothing for 3 days after that (with mild cramps... which I kept being told was "normal") Then, a week later I had the miscarriage. Have you called your doctor to see what they say?
Like ovaz129 said, this can be normal. But, this is also how my second miscarriage started. I had pink when I wiped, but no cramps at all. Went to the doc to get a scan, was told everything was fine and even saw the baby and heart fluttering, to only miscarry 3 days later. Call your doctor and get in and get a scan just to see what's going on.
Thanks for the well wishes!
No I haven't called my doctor yet, as I was hoping it might stop. Like I say, I can barely feel anything, and I really do only when I think about it. I guess I'll call soon if it doesn't go away.
I hear of so many women who bleed and everything is fine, and so many that have miscarriages. I guess I was hoping to see if there was a 'norm'. I didn't bleed at all with either of my kids, but I guess every pregnancy can be different right?
I agree with the others to check with your doctor but I wanted to share my experience for encouragement. I bled twice - once brown blood at 5 weeks for about 7 days - baby was fine - and another time at 7 weeks - red blood in toilet. I had been cramping since about 5 weeks so I definitely thought I was miscarrying. I went to ER and baby was fine - 7 weeks. I checked again 2 days later just to be sure and baby was fine; 7 weeks 3 days with a strong heartbeat. I have not bled since. I am finally convinced bleeding can be 100% normal for some people. Also I read that around 7 weeks you can bleed from the fetus burrowing more deeply into the uterine lining. Best of luck to you.
i had what you are describing. only a small amt that i noticed when i wiped, mostly a light brownish color. it only lasted one day but was the scariest day of my pregnancy! my doctor said that it was probably old blood leftover from implantation. also, your cervix is very tender so if you had intercourse or if it was irritated in anyway, that could be another explanation. my spotting happened around 4 or 5 weeks. i hope everything works out for you! see your doctor just to be sure...
Wow that sure gives me hope! Yes, the blood is definately not red - just brown. Were your cramps bad when you were bleeding? I am having them off and on, but just mild.
So I did end up at the ER, as my doc didn't have room for me. He said the look of the blood looks like it could be the placenta or the uterus preparing itself. The blood test is still good. I'm only to worry if it becomes really painful, or starts bleeding alot more. Boy I sure hope this stops soon!!
i had mild cramps on and off for the first 11 weeks or so only because of the uterus growing making room around the organs and all of the other changes that goes on in our tummies. they just felt like sporadic, mild menstrual cramps.
i am glad that you are being cautious because you never know...but i think you are fine. it's not uncommon and the same thing happened to 3 of my friends all who went on to have healthy pregnancies just like me. there are many cases like the girls have mentioned above wear the spotting isn't okay. but i think you are going thru exactly what i did and because you have involved your doctor, he/she will be able to monitor the situation more closely to be sure that you and baby are fine. i hope it stops soon too...mine luckily only lasted a day, but my friends all said theirs lasted 2 or 3 days.
good luck to you! keep us posted! when is your first sonogram?
Oh thanks, I really need the luck! Today isn't as good, the cramps are more uncomfortable, though still not what I would call painful, and the blood was pretty red this morning. If it lasts much longer I think I can be pretty sure this is the end of the road for this time around. :( Such a disappointment, as the exam at the hospital went so well! Well I'll see how this day goes I guess. Thanks for all your advice though!! :)
