Long awaited surgery update
I just got home from the hospital.
So i'll go on with the story here.
I went in at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, suppose to register check in and go up to pre-op! Well, I get up there, and you know kind of cranky cause I was starving. Well, 30 minutes later they hook me up to the iv. Check my vitals, and baby.
So i'm waiting....and my surgery time rolls around, still waiting.....starving, thirsty, cold, waiting.... 2 hours later, they finally come and get me, while the guy was pushing me down, he was telling me this lady came in the ER with pain, she had apendecitis, and while removing the apendix, they discovered her fallopian tube was bursted, so they remove that, and then she needed her gallbladder removed. So seeing as how it was a life threatening emergency she went first, okay that is reasonable to be late. No worries. So I'm waiting for the doctor to get down, and then he comes up to me and tells me the same story, lol.... Anywho, we get the show on the road!
So 5 pm, and into surgery. They have me scoot on the bed, they prop my right side up so im leaning to the left and have lots of blood flow for baby! Start injecting some medicine into my iv, lol it made it so I could not keep my eyes open for the life of me, and I was having troubles talking, and it felt like my mouth was dripping off of me...(if you've seen fantastic four, like the rubber man) lol... Then they put a mask on me, and tell me to take deep breaths...I don't remember anything after that up until...
I'm coming out of it, their wheeling me into recovery and I start hyperventalating(sp) because it felt like I had something in my throat, which was the tube they shoved in me lol....But it wasn't there anymore, so I was freaking a bit. I start crying because I am hurting, cause my throat hurts, cause I keep coughing and it hurts...And then i'm in a bit of a daze...they are talking about my heartbeat....and my ob comes running in and comes up to me, and starts talking and I have no idea what he is talking about. Then all these doctors, The surgeon for hernia, my ob, a cardiologist, and three others are telling me I need to be admitted...
I am so freaking confused at this point, and don't know if it's because of me or baby.....FINALLY I get my ob and ask what the hell is going on...He tells me that during the surgery my heart started racing, and so fast they had to rush the surgery and hurry up and get me out of there. I have no heart conditions, so we're all worried.
Then they send me up to the ICU.. I did however get put on an awesome bed lol that was so comfy. Anywho, so i'm in my room, they call my husband and he is freaking. They tell me to try and eat something, so they give me pudding of all things when I ask for saltines. And some water. I took a tiny bite of pudding and felt so sick, and they didn't let me eat, or drink anything until this morning....omg... 32 hours without food.... ugh...So they give me zoloft i think for the nausea, and give me morphine for the pain. My ob didn't want me in any pain incase it sent me into labor.
So every hour i'm getting morphine. Finally the lady comes down from L&D ands checks on baby, baby is great kicking away! So I then spend the entire night trying to get comfortable, trying to understand what the heck is going on, and hurting and sick...
This morning a heart specialist comes in and does an ultrasound on my heart, because no one including me or my dad can figure out where or why I would have a heart problem. So the ultrasound comes out perfect, he said he has never seen such a healthy heart. ok.....The cardiologist comes in and tells me my heart is fine I can go home.
So they tell me that this is just something freak that happens, but surgery went fine, and baby is fine. So there is my horrible time in the Fing hospital over night. I didn't sleep much last night. Too many wires hooked up to me. Too much pain and too many alarms.
I am going to go lay in bed, because I had to cancel my dinner, and i'm miserable, and not happy!
ugh, i hope this pain goes away because no pharmacy was open to fill my perscriptions, and i'm suffering...

The hospital just called me to check up on me, they do that 24 hours after your released. OMG!!!! She asked if I had any concerns, I told her I wasn't happy with the last nurse I had who wouldn't fill my prescription and made me go a night with out pain meds, and my antibiotics. She said, that nurse had been on call and wasn't expecting to come in and got pissed when she had too. She has been getting complaints about her all day!!! lol....
but she was sincere about it, and you know other than that it was peachie keen...The doctor is suppose to call me in the next hour, to answer some of my questions. So we'll see what he says...

I am glad to hear everything turned out okay! Sorry it was a bad experience. This kid will definitely respect his mommy for everything that you have endured during your pregnancy! LOL - DH took me shopping this morning - he had to go to SEARS to get like an ungodly amount of TOOLS and ****. I was awake at 2:50 - this morning. We got back home at like 7:30 -and I went to sleep.
Thanksgiving is tomorrow for me! Oh I can't wait. LOL I was thinking about it all day yesterday and the day before when I went in.. gosh...
LOL I did finally remember the name of the dang thing... Incarserated Open Epi gastric hernia, lol...but then the heart thing, still can't remember that name. They said it, and I looked at them like they were speaking another language. It's a word that has 36 letters he said. LMAO I was like ok, what the He LL is it? lol..
oh well....finally got my shower, I feel so refreshed and even more tired. My hubby told me I should just go to bed, so i'm going to eat, and go to bed.
I think the i.v they had me on made me gain 15 lbs, unless my stomach is that swollen, who knows. I look super prego ahaha... And I think she dropped. Pretty sure of it, since none of my under belly pants fit me anymore..... sweats and shorts it is for me....I guess i'll wait it out 15 days to really see if it's swollen and iv weight, and I lose it, or if baby decided to get fattened up on iv fluid. lmao...

Also....my kids really don't like not being able to use me as a jungle gym....lol...their actually throwing themselves on the floor when I say no...it's quite funny, but I can't laugh cause it hurts!

OMG!! What a disaster!! I am glad you are now home w. your meds..I am super happy the baby is ok and waiting to hear that you are feeling much better!!

No wonder you hate hospitals! Every time you go there, something traumatic happens!!
I'm glad you're okay now and home! Hopefully you can get your prescription filled soon (tho like others said, it's weird that the hospital didn't fill it for you since it was a holiday!)
Maybe see if hubby will make you a belated Turkey Day dinner tonight! =D

lol i know lol i got wheeled out of there cussing up a storm cause I was pissed, but eager to get the heck out!
i'm good though, feeling better besides to pain from the immediate spot, and sneexing coughing hurts, lol... but just still really really tired...

Joy - I still haven't gotten that answer. My doctor had to rush into another emergency surgery after They all decided to admit me, so I have to call them today to ask about this bandage i'm suppose to remove for the shower, but I have like 15 different badages lol so no idea if they all come off or not. But from what I gather, it was either the stomach, or intestine. They are worried about me having a bm... but i'm think the stomach because the ulcers could have eaten through completely. I'll know Monday for sure, because I don't think my doctor is in today....
Sweetangel7 - I asked them about that, I told them, cause of the time I got out, that I had doubted anything would be open. And they said they didn't want to fill it because their pharmacy was only open to patients, this was right after I signed the discharge papers... geez...
Oh well, I got my meds now. Eagerly waiting to shower... lol

I'm surprised the hospital didn't have a pharmacy to fill the script or at least offer to give you some to tide you over considering the holiday! Next time refuse to leave without meds!!!
i cannot believe your luck these days but I am glad you are home and that the pharmacy opens soon. I have no idea what you must be thinking or feeling so I won't even try to go there. Take care and rest up

Lol no worries yes Zofran is an anti- naeusea med! glad it wasnt zoloft as that takes at least 2 wks to work lol

Yeah, I believe the signs said they had just closed, so I got out of the hospital too late, but then I asked myself...."Why didn't the hospital fill this prescription and give it to me knowing everything would be closed?" ahaha
oh well. I am run down, and dragging hard core. I want to shower, because I hurt, and I can't because i'm not allowed to till tomorrow...

Well I'm glad you're home and baby is fine. I really like how in the US everything closes for this holiday. In my small town (canada) on any given holiday there are at least 3 drugstores open, plus all the resturants and corner stores and even m&m meat shops. and we only got sunday shopping 2 years ago.
ahaha the medicine was zofran, i think the commercial for zoloft came on when I was typing lmao.. oooops..
me too!!! ahaha with how much pain i'm in at the moment i'd gladly trade it for a contraction instead of this... lol... takes 40 minutes to get off the couch, 40 minutes to get in an upright position that looks like i'm huntched over lol....oh but i can sit just like that, lmao gosh...
lol..well at least its done and over with!! :):) I hope thats all you have to go through!!
