I am so sorry for your losses. You will need to have a cerclage placed in all subsequent pregnancies. If you have an incompetent cervix, you will always have one. It is likely that it was the reason for you first pregnancy loss as well. Typically once they know you have one, they will place a cerclage between 12-16 weeks depending on your situation. I had a rescue cerclage placed at 20 weeks with my daughter and am currently 19 weeks pregnant. This time around I actually had it placed at 8 weeks because of my cervix size and previous problems. Knowing this is actually a blessing because the largest liklihood is that with a cerclage placed next time, you will have a sucessful pregnancy. The odd cycles could be many things, its possible your infection was the cause, but you also could still be getting back to normal after your miscarriage. If the test is negative this month, I would personally just have intercourse every other day and do your best to relax. Worrying so greatly about the dates and the added stress of your recent loss could contribute to not getting pregnant. I don't know if you are religious, but putting it in God's hands, asking for his will to be done and to relieve you of some of your pain from your losses could be of great help. Good luck and I hope you have a sucessful pregnancy very soon.
I had a Cerclage for my first child because of an incompetent cervix (in 2000). Carried to full term and everything was fine. However, I just lost my son on Oct. 15th of this year. My water broke at 18 weeks. I know how you feel about the pain. I don't know how you can follow your ovulation period, but I wish you all the luck. I also want a baby so bad and although it has been less than a month that I lost my son, I am ready try again. And I hope that I can be pregnant right away.
I too have an incomp. cervix so I lost my first baby on 14 weeks. I found out a year later that I was Pregnant again. Immediately I started worrying. I told my OB/GYN what happened previously and he kept me under close eye. At 11.5 weeks my cervix started opening. My docter noticed it straight away so he sent me for a Shirodkar Stitch at twelve weeks. I am now almost 18 weeks and the baby is doing just fine. Maybe you should keep this procedure in mind...
I have pcos too. I miscarried my first baby in the 18th week(02/03/07). I went to labor with labor pains. I don't understand how it happened. I can understand what you are going through. Hope you will have a healthy baby.
i'm sorry for you loss, I too had a miscarriage on Sept 7, 2007. This is my first pregnancy and it hurt so bad but we are trying again.
