My sister had three miscarriages before being able to carry a child to term. The doctors never really knew why she could not carry a child. Her daughter is now 12yrs old.
update i went to see another doctor and he has done a chromosone test. i really don't know what that consist of but they took alot of blood. I am just wondering what happens if my labs come back and there is a chromosone problem, is there anything that can be done?
Has your Dr. checked your progesterone levels? If your progesterone is too low that can cause recurrent miscarriages. I am 5 wks and 3 days pregnant... last week my OB ran some blood work to check my HCG and Prog. My prog was a bit low at 13.7. Most OB's want it above 15 in the first few weeks of pregnancy but over 20 is even better. She put me on progesterone suppositories and my levels came up to 24.8... latest results came in this morning. I hear many woman have success with the progesterone suppositories and many Dr's recommend you take it as soon as you ovulate. It is definitely worth checking out! Also, I would definitely get a second opinion after 4 miscarriages. Maybe it's time to see a Reproductive Endocrinilogist... Fert Dr. They can run genetic testing and all sorts of hormone tests to see whats going on. Good luck.
Have you tried getting a 2nd opinion from a different doc? Do you have any other kids? I have very irregular periods sometimes I will go over 3 months without getting a period but I have endometriosis. I would go see a different doctor that specializes in fertility. Best of luck to you.
