My period ended 13 days ago and I'm spotting dark blood

  My name is Anita and I'm 24 years old.  My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 3 years.  I have been pregnant twice.  The first time with twins, I lost the 1st in the first few weeks an the 2nd at 20 weeks.  ( I gave birth to a girl... we named her Natalie Grace DeVall.)  Then I found out I was pregnant 2 days before new years of last year.  I had a egg topic pregnancy 5 days later.  They removed one of my tubes.  ( I almost died from a infection... I had 106.0 fever for a week an nothing would break it.  I had cellulites and a womb infection.)
  
  Well my husband and I are trying again.  MY PERIOD ENDED 13 DAYS AGO AN NOW I'M SPOTTING DARK BLOOD.  I don't know what to think.  I'm taking the diet pill PHENTERMINE so I thought maybe it was a side effect so I did a online search.  I learned that the pill that I'm taking is often used for woman that have heavy bleeding.  It slows it down.  So... needless to say that left me a bit puzzled.  Could that be implantation?  I don't have any pain... just a little discomfort.  I normally have 30 days between each period.  Is it to soon for a pregnancy test to show being I haven't missed my period yet?  Then to make things more puzzling I had a pap done almost 5 months ago.  Could I be having a miscarriage?  (  Both of my pregnancy's were VERY painful. )

Hmmmm....usually implantation bleeding is light...I don't have an answer for you but it could be implantation bleeding...did you have that with your other two pregnancies?  Although every pregnancy is different they say!  I'm a little confused about the pap situation...did you have one just for a yearly exam or was there a reason for the pap that might have to do with the bleeding?

I took the birth control shot and had a bad reaction to it.  It was only suppose to last for 3 months then my period should had started.  Well after of 9 months of nothing... not even spotting... some one told me about GNC's VITEX.  I took it and a week later I started.  That was the reason for the pap.  And the bleeding I'm having is just spotting.  I wore 1 pad all day at work and I only had a quarter size spot.  The pad I had from last night was the same.  I just don't know what to think.  Anita

If you believe you could be pregnant, stop taking the diet pills! You could take a pregnancy test in 2 weeks for an accurate result.

I was just telling my husband that I'm going to stop taking them.  I just took a shower an there barely enough blood to see.  And with my other miscarriages there a was bloody, tissue looking substance an I don't have that.   Its kinda hard to explain.   I hope I'm pregnant!  Thank would be awesome but also terrifying being what happen the last 2 times.  I will keep every one posted on what happens.  Anita

Make sure you let your doc know your concerns if you are pregnant so they can run some tests and watch you closely! Not saying anything bad will happen again, but you'll want to take the measures!

When you say dark blood, do you mean black, brown, rusty (brownish red)? If blood is black, then you'd have to see a doctor immediately. If it is brown or rusty, that means there is old blood.

It was dark brown on my pad.  When I was washing I noticed it was a dark brownish -red.

i'm still spotting today... how long can implantation bleeding last?

the spotting stopped today.  I found a web site that said that you can spot dark blood during ovulation... is this true?  That was the only site that I found that said that.  I really hope I'm pregnant... how soon can i test?  I don't want to get excited and get let down so I really need a answer to this.  After 3 miscarriages I don't think I could handle another let down.

i think it should start the 22nd or perhaps a few days before.

I took 2 digital clearblue easy test last night and they both said "not pregnant".  ( Keep in mind that my period isn't suppose to start until the 22nd or maybe a few days before.)  So I took the thing apart to see if there was 2 lines.  Both had 2 lines.  Dose this mean that I'm pregnant?  I don't know what to think.  I feel pregnant but I don't want to get my hopes up until I know for sure.  I have been very tired, i have been getting heart burn,  frequent urination, very thirsty, an that "full" feeling in my stomach.  Please let me know what you think.................Anita.

There's always 2 lines on the clear blue tests when you take them a part......i'm sorry to say that doesn't mean you're pregnant.....i think the earliest those test can show positive is 5 days before your missed period.....i would wait a few more days before testing again.....good luck

I'm going to retest next week.  I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now .  I have taken those apart in the past and there was alway just one line and I wasn't pregnant.  So I don't know what to think.

My period was due today but never came.  I retested last night with a first response ... it was negative.  Is it possible to be pregnant and it show negative?  I'm really depressed.  I'm 24... this shouldn't be that difficult.  I only have one tube so I have 50% chance of getting pregnant.  Has any one out there been through this...?  If so please reply.  And if I'm not pregnant why did I had the dark spotting?  I teach 3 year olds for a living.  I see people every day that mistreat their kids, smoke & drink while pregnant, ... people that have no idea how blessed they are.  Its really hard for me.  Then to make matters worse I have 3 pregnant co-workers and 5 pregnant parents that I see on a daily basis.  I just feel hopeless... please reply.... With my second daughter... I didn't get a positive pregnancy test right away either. At best it was so faint you couldn't even tell it was positive! Keep hope. Some people don't get a positive for a few days to a week after AF is due.

You may have ovulated later hence why your period isnt here,if a test is still negative,i would suggest wait a week,test again,or go for a blood test.
