Hello, sorry for not updating ya'll lastnight. DH turned out to be just fine. The doc had told him that it could have messed with his internal stuff, like how his heart beats and scary stuff like that. BUT thankfully his heart rate was normal, no open sores or injuries that they could find.
Im doing okay, it was storming a bit earlier and I was a bit paranoid with hubby going outside to smoke, so I made him wait it out lol. So all is well thankfully, because it could have been a very different outcome. I dont think I have ever held hubby as tight as I did lastnight when he came home from the ER. The thought of not having him...uhg I can't even imagine.
I am glad you and hubby have survived it, as I know this can kill in a second. My mother had a cow when she was young in their farm, the cow died because of it!
What a story...that is so scary. How is everything with your dh?
BTS: How are you today after this? Feeling okay and all? Did DH make it out okay form the ER?
Wow.. I am glad you are doing ok. That is soooo scary!!!!! =)
**Hugs!**
wow, as soon as i read this i thought you should go ro call the Dr. How did your hubby make out at the er?
sorry dear but am very glad to hear that you and huby are ok.
Oh my gosh scary. Yeah I am sure your DH did get some shock from the lightening, but at least he is okay...if he was just a few feet over it could have been deadly. Thank your lucky stars and that tree for absorbing some of the electricity! Tell him to quit smoking and stay inside...hehe, at least during the stormy seasons!
Thank you everyone, I called my OB and he said since I was inside and the bolt didnt hit the actual house, I should be okay. He said that DH should go in because the electricity could have entered his body at a low voltage hence why his feet were tingling, so DH is at the ER right now, I had to stay behind because my boys are in bed. Im sure DH will be fine, but just taking precaution.
It was def. a very scary event, but it seems the weather has calmed a bit. Im still leary on getting in the bath tub with all the lightning, and DH not being home, so I think I will play it safe, sit here on my couch, eat my pretzel sticks and watch TV till he gets home.
So glad you're okay!!! My MIL, SIL and her daughter, my daughter and myself went to see Kitt Kittredge. During the movie we heard what sounded like trains and rain just pouring on the theatre. When we got out it was raining really hard. I got SOAKED getting out of the car just 30 minutes ago. So I think we're having the same storms as you. Major lightning and I was hoping the car wouldn't be hit by a bolt.
Anyway, I digress. GLAD you're okay!
Thank God you all are okay! That gust of wind was God making sure no one got hurt.
dnikki0928- Im 25 weeks and 2 days. I didn't think of that, infact I may call my OB who is also my family doc and let him know what happened. I am having a slight headache, probably due to the light, but I think I will give him a call since you said something. I appreciate you bringing that up, I would have never of thought that we could be in any danger, but since im preggers I should let the doc know.
BTS: I just read this to DH, and it occured to us both, you AND dh BOTH had an indirect strike of lightening. I don't want to panic you, but since it knocked both of you on your bum, and since you are p/g, DH and I both think you should go into the hospital and get checked out. How far along are you? I really think its a good idea :)
WOW! ive never seen it that close either! I would be in my room in the closet lol! thats crazy. Im glad everyone is ok! I love watching storms, but from a considerable, safe distance! I watched this thing years ago about how some people got struck by lightening, then it followed them wherever they went. no matter what state they moved to they got struck or almost struck. Its wierd.
Okay, so maybe it wasn't a near death experiance, but oh my gosh it was close. Im NEVER going outside when it storms ever again. Thats the closest I have ever been to lightning and I dont want to ever be that close again lol.
Poor hubby was closer than me, and it freaked me out when I seen him laying there in a daze. I thought for sure he had been hit, or something exploded in or out of the house. It never occured to me that it was lightning, even with the thunder. It didn't sound like the normal rumble of thunder, it was just one loud solid boom, like something literally exploded.
Hubby is doing better, he is much more relaxed, and is sitting here watching south park, me on the other hand, im okay, just still in complete and utter shock of what had happened.
Wow, I'm so glad you and your husbamd are okay!
My great grandma is so terrified of thunderstorms as her house/property has been hit numerous times. It's a scary thing...
Oh my gosh.....That is scary!!! I'm glad you and hubby are okay!!!!!!!!!
