No movement :-(

I'm 17 weeks + 1 day pregnant, With my first baby. I have not yet felt the baby move. Is this normal? I've read in various places online and in books etc that I should start to feel some movement after week 16 and am a bit worried that I haven't felt anything yet.

I didn't feel strong movement until I was 22 weeks with my daughter, there were flutters and muscles streching but it was hard for me to figure out which movements were my daughter. With this pregnancy I was getting light movements around 17 but they got really strong and more constant around 22 weeks again. Don't worry yet especially if this is your first baby, it takes time and varies for everyone.

But if you are worried then contact your dr/midwife as you'll be able to hear the heartbeat by now

You don't always feel the baby before 16 weeks. My sister didn't feel her baby move until 2 weeks after she found out she was pregnant and she was 20 weeks by then

I'm 17 weeks 2 days and haven't felt anything. My sister said she didn't feel anything until her 20 week ultrasound. The ultrasound technician told her when the baby was kicking and that's when she first felt her baby move. Be patient, you'll feel your baby soon enough. You actually could be feeling the baby and passing it up as gas or hunger pangs (that's what I've read and what my doctor told me).
