OT pc trouble lost my book

OK I wrote a childrens book and had it saved, then last night I wrote my DH a note on the desktop like always as he gets on when he gots home from work, so when it asked me to save I said no then went to open my book to print out and there was my note to DH!!!!!! I am soooo upset, I have no clue how to recover my book as this program saved over it somehow:(===== that is tears running down my face.

I was to send it off to the publisher by the new year and I am just besides my self, I don't know if I could rewrite it or not! I had a poem and I was inspired that night and wrote it in an hour!!!

Does anyone know how to recover a lost document? One that has been saved over???????

It is a laptop so it would not be hard to take to them but "them" is at least 2 hours away! I live in the mountians so it would be an all day thing to go there and back.

I will if I have to though!!! ughhhh

you could possibly call one of your local computer repair people and they may be able to help you over the phone without charge...or worse comes to worse take it to them and they would be able to recover it for you...Good luck

Eek! That just *****. I wish I knew how to recover older versions of a file but I'm afraid I don't.
