Ovulation Question - Would love feedback

A little about me. . . I've been ttc for just three months, and am unsure if I am ovulating.  My cycles returned to normal very quickly, and so far have been 31 days, and 36 days long.  (So, fairly regular I would say)

My problem is, I am unsure if I am ovulating.  I went out and bought ovulation sticks and have been testing, but have yet to get a positive.  Yet, about 14 days before my next af is due, my cm changes to an abundance of egg white cm.  (sorry for too much information)  I never had this type of cm while on the pill, and it comes every month.  Yet, when I test, one pink line is a little lighter than the other.  I tested Friday because my cm consistency changed to the egg white type, and I got the darkest pink line I've gotten so far.  Yet, it was still a bit lighter than the reference line, and I know that the line should be same or darker.  

Has this happened to anyone before?  I'm thinking I MUST be ovulating if my cm is changing so much around that time, but then why am I not getting positives on the ovulation tester kit?  I know I could also be tracking BBT, but I figure the ovulation kit should detect ovulation, and I'm reading the instructions, so I think I'm doing it correctly.

Just wondering - has anyone else received negative ovulation tests, yet been ovulating? Sorry to be a pest, I just want so badly to be ovulating.

Thanks a lot for your comments.  This is all so new to me, and I keep getting frustrated by the ovulation kits.  Not to mention they are spendy!

yep I got pregnant before on a not high quality egg...unfortunately MC'd but not due to the quality I had a blood problem that is now under control by taking baby asprin.....but I don't think it really matters about holding your urine 4 hours I never worried about that I worried more about the same time every day.

I try to test everyday around 4pm.  I ready that one isn't suppose to go to the bathroom for 4 hours before hand to get a real strong result, and also not supposed to drink anything for a few hours.  Unfortunately for me, it's almost impossible to go 4 hours without peeing.  Sad, but I have the smallest bladder ever!  So, I'm thinking maybe that is effecting it.  

Do you know if it isn't a good quality egg, is pregnancy still possible?

I would say you are O'ing and what my OB told me when I would never get a full + that maybe I just wasn't producing as high quality of egg as I should.  So it could still be a good egg just not an excellent....do you OPK in the after noons as close to the same time every day?  That can be alot of trouble some women have you need to do it in the after noon and as close to same time as possibe.  Good luck.....
