Ovulation and pregnancy tests

My friend and I were talking and it got me thinking, so I wanted some additional thoughts!
Whenever anyone on here asks about when is the right time to take a pregnancy test, the usual response is at least 2 weeks after sex or depending on the test before/during a missed period. My question is does this hold true if you know when you ovulated? If you know you ovulated on either one of two days then there is your 24-48 hour window of fertilization. Usually we tell people to wait because sperm can live inside a women for up to 7 days and you don't want someone taking a test to early and getting a negative but find out she had fertilization happen on that 7th day. But if you are not worried about that span of up to 7 days and know that only 2 days it could really happen and the egg would be fertilized could you test earlier then normal??
Just curious what other think!! or have experienced. I think I saw someone on here test at 8DPO and get a positive.......

I go by the wait so your test is more accurate, if I didn't I would be giving way too much money to the HPT companies!! But I suppose I hadnt thought of it that way, and I was thinking if there was a reason to test earlier then would be advised if it you know when you ovulated. But you are right you would have to test knowing it could be a false negative.

10DPO is pretty early and usually before your period is due, so I guess it can work, but then tests are so sensitive that they can test 6 days before your due, its just trying not to think about it for that week and a half.............

I never got a + before 10dpo. I think for women who know when they Oed then test early is fine, but also that chance of getting a - and then having to Re test anyway. You might as well just wait..HAHA I know easier said then done!
