Pain in vagina..

I started having a sharp pain in my vagina this morning. It's mostly when walking/standing. I tried to look it up on the Internet and found it could mean I'm effacing/dilating.  Has this happened to anyone? Did you dilate?

Could be that baby is resting on a nerve. When I was pregnant t sometimes I'd get this shooting pain in my cervix that felt like i was being stabbed with an electrically charged knife. Happened for weeks before I went into labor.

The sharp shooting pains are likely your cervix getting ready for labor.  This could be effacement or dialation or both.  Have you been having any braxton hicks?  If so have you noticed that the pains comes during or right after one?

I started having the same pain as you a at around 34 weeks. I was told its just the baby's head pushing on the cervix and at 35 weeks I was dialated to 1 cm. I still hurt when I walk and when I first stand up. It also hurts when lying in bed and you go to roll over from one side to the other I get the sharp pain when I get on my back during the transition.

I'm 36 weeks and my baby has dropped, so maybe he's just pushing on something?
