HI yes i had my 12wk scan which showed my baby no longer had a heartbeat. so from thre went to hospital. I had a missed misscarrige, so next step was a D & C Proceedue. That took almost 1hr because they couldnt control my bleeding i lost over 1 litre of blood and its from that, tht they figured out i had whats called a Moler Pregnancy. I didnt have an ultrasound after, although i did have chest xrays jus to make sure it hadnt spread to my lungs. They have been monitoring my HCG levels since August. they have been going down and last week it shudda been 0 but had jumped from 2-3 which my Dr said there could be room for marginal error.
The risk of ever getting it again is 1%(1 in 100) and 4%(4 in 100)
I was just reading this and thought that it could help..... Did you have a D and C? Did you have an ultrasound after? How long have they been watching you levels??
What kind of risks are related to a molar pregnancy?
A hydatidiform mole can cause heavy bleeding from the uterus.
Some molar pregnancies lead to abnormal cell growth called gestational trophoblastic disease.
About 15% to 20% of complete molar pregnancies develop trophoblastic disease that keeps growing after the molar pregnancy is removed. A small percentage of these may become invasive cancer.4, 5 Fortunately, nearly 100% of those women who develop cancer are cured with treatment.2
About 5% of partial molar pregnancies develop trophoblastic disease.5
In rare cases, the abnormal tissue can spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body.
