Pelvic pain and positive pregnancy test??

I have been having pretty bad pelvic pain the last few days. It comes and goes and it sharp. I was telling my mom about it last night and she suggest that I take a pregnancy test. I just took one and it was positive. My husband and I have been trying for some time so I am getting really excited. Now, I have been reading online that pelvic pain is a symptom of ovarian cysts and that ovarian cysts can make a pregnacy test positive even if the woman isn't pregnant. Does anyone know anything about this? I am really hoping I am pregnant but after reading all that I am starting to feel discouraged. Please help. Thanks.

False Positives are pretty uncommon.  I would suggest trying to get into a doctor and have blood work done.  That can tell you 100% that you are or are not pregnant.  A line is a line until proven to be false.  I very seriously doubt that it is an ovarian cyst that is making the test positive.  Breathe....it's gonna be alright.  Don't stress too much...it's not good for the baby even at this early.

If the test is positive, you are almost certainly pregnant.  Call your doctor and tell him/her that you took a hpt and it was positive.  Explain the pain you are having so they can tell you whether it is normal or something that needs to be checked out.  You can schedule your first prenatal appointment with this call as well.

Sounds like you are pregnant. Sometimes cramping or pelvic pain is caused from the uterus stretching! Please keep us updated and CONGRATZ
