My first was an emergency csection and im looking at a planned c section for #2. How are planned csections scheduled? (like week before?) what if I go into labor before the planned date?

They normally schedule a planned c section at 39 weeks. This will vary based on your drs concerns and your personal circumstances (like are you high risk, is baby breech, is mom or baby in distress etc) If you go into labor before the scheduled c section they will treat it just as an emergency one and start prepping for it as soon as you get there. You will labor in the hospital room until they are ready for you. Don't worry they can still do one if baby decides to come early :)

Thank you for the help! The reason I ask is cause my son was an emergency c section, and we found out durring that emergency c section that I am allergic to morphine (I couldn't breathe)which leaves me questioning what they are going to use. both babies were planned for but this one I made sure to keep all the dates and the latest possible day I could have concieved makes my due date 8·5·17 but my dr has my due date marked at 8·15·17 from my ultrasound and im worried i'll go into labor before my planned c section date
When you get there to check in they should ask you if you are allergic to any medication and they put it on an orange bracelet on your left arm. :)
I would definitely express that concern of baby coming early with your Dr and have a game plan ready. Ask if there's anything you can do to register early at the hospital, etc but it will be OK they can still do one if baby comes early :)

I never had one before but I think it's around a week before just in case so you can have a c section before you go into labor. I don't kno anyone who had a planner c section before so I know I'm not the best person to say anything
