Possibly leaking amniotic fluid?

Hi ladies!  I am 30 weeks pregnant and last night I had something happen that really scared me.  I woke up in the middle of the night and had a very strong urge to pee.  I sleep surrounded by pillows and had to unfold myself and role over.  Well, this is going to be tmi, but I was sleeping in nothing because I couldn't get comfortable and kept getting hot.  When I went to put my feet down on the floor and stand up off the bed I felt something trickling down my legs.  I ran to the bathroom and it was a clear liquid. It wasn't a whole lot, and I couldn't tell if it had a smell.  I went to the bathroom, cleaned up and went back to bed.  I haven't had any more fluid come out, and I don't know if it was amniotic fluid or urine.  I have noticed that with the way the baby is positioned if I cough, sneeze, or do anything along those lines I pee a little (see I told you tmi)!  Anyway, I have a doctor's appointment next week and I am not sure if I should call or wait until then.  From what I read, if it is amniotic fluid it will continue to leak.  Does anyone know anything about this?

The fact that you had the urge to pee tells me it was urine. Amniotic fluid will not give you an urge, it just happens if there is a leak.  If your water breaks you may feel a "popping" sensation like someone popping a balloon inside you and then a small gush or trickle.

Hi, the same thing used to happen to me when i was pregnant and i thought it was my bladder that was weak from the weight of the baby...so i went to see my dr and was told it was the amniotic fluid leaking and i was admitted to the hospital and delivered a healty baby boy the next morning. sometimes there is no big gush of water and an infection could happen if it is the amniotic fluid is leaking..

this may not be whats happening to you but just letting you know my experience..

Thank you, that's what I was thinking, but I just wanted a second opinion.

According to my midwife, it would be a constant trickle if it was amniotic fluid. If you had to use the bathroom really bad, it's possible after you got up and moved that the baby put pressure on your bladder which caused you to leak urine. You can call your doctor and describe it to them, just to see what they want you to do, but if I had to guess I would say it's just urine and not fluid.
