Pregnancy after D and C

How long should I wait to try to concieve after a miscarriage? My doctor said 3 months. She made me feel like my chances of miscarriage are higher if we concieve within those 3 months but somehow I feel like planning/ trying to concieve again will take my mind off of this horrible miscarriage experience.

Leanna is exactly right. I just miscarried my first baby in November and it was completely devastating. The feeling of waking up and being pregnant one day and than waking up and not being pregnant the next is so emotionally scaring. My miscarriage happened naturally so my doctor said as soon as my HCG levels were back to 0, everything was out of my body and when I was emotionally ready we could try again. But like Leanna said when you have a D&C they do say wait a couple cycles so your body can fully heal. But with a natural miscarriage I think it all depends on when you're ready emotionally and mentally. When I had my miscarriage...it was awful, we were planning on telling our parents (first grandbaby for both) the timing was just perfect, we had already bought some things (I was 13 weeks when I miscarried) and than all of a sudden it was all gone so as soon as my doctor said we could try again we did. I just want that feeling of being pregnant again so badly and my husband & I want a baby soo much. I don't think your chances are higher per say, there are women out there who do miscarry twice in a row and than there are woman who carry to full term after a miscarriage. It can really go either way, I think it just depends on your body, the sperm and your egg. But good luck! We're ttc as well, and the having to wait is sooo difficult!! Keep us posted! XOXO

Usually with natural mc they say one cycle, with a D&C they say 3 so your uterus's lining is thicker. I have had 3 mc, done both natural and surgery. I lost my last baby in July and got pregnant again in October. So far I am over 8 weeks, and all is well. Saw baby and heartbeat.
Its best to try again when you feel up to it. With a natural mc they say wait one cycle for dating purposes as well as grieving time. With a D&C, your body needs to re-build after the surgery.  I would at least wait a bit for your body to re-build some, but yes you do have a higher chance of conceiving after a MC. Good luck, baby dust!

I have suffered with 4misscarriages and would recommend you wait until your emotionally stable before you even think about trying again, me and my husband tried again straight away and lost another baby and the heartache was terrible as i was then grieving for 2babies, however at the end of the day it is UR body and only U will no when that time is right, i stopped trying and now im 32weeks pregnant! Good luck to you and your partner xx

I got pregnant within one cycle and I'm now 37 weeks. I've also heard of people getting pregnant before they even have a cycle and going to healthy pregnancies.

The risk is the same no matter when you concieve, some drs recommend 3 cycles others 1,its simply for dateing purposes, although personally i would wait for at least 1 cycle,so you know your uterus is prepared again.but saying that plenty of women get pregnant straight away and have a healthy pregnancy,as long as you are emotionally ready..i wish you all the best.
