Pregnancy

Last month I started taking the birth control pill. I only took it for two weeks and then stopped. I did have unprotected sex with my partner during this time and once after stopping them. Now, it has been 5 weeks since my last period. I usually go 25-27 days between each period.

My question is, is it normal to have a late period after taking the pill for two weeks only and then stopping? Should I be worried about a possible pregnancy? I am not worried about STD's from the unprotected sex as my partner and I have been tested.

Last year I was on a different pill for 6 months and stopped taking them halfway through a pack. I started my period after two days of not taking them, so this is worrying me.

Well if your doctor said that the pill didn't need to build up in your system and that it was effective immediately my guess is that it may set your cycle off a little bit. When I went off birth control pill last time it took a while for my cycle to regulate

My doctor said since I started taking the pills on the first day of my period, I wouldn't need to use a backup method. It also said that in the instructions. I stopped taking them because they were making me feel extremely moody, which is why I stopped taking them the first time. I am at a stable place in life where it would be fine to be pregnant and bring in a child. I was taking the pill for other reasons than pregnancy prevention.

I was just wondering if it is normal to have a late period after not finishing a pill pack when I hadn't been on it for very long.

Well it is very possible you could be pregnant. Many BC pills need to build up in your system over time to be most effective... Therefore two weeks is probably not long enough! Why do you stop taking your pills? There is always a risk of pregnancy when you do that. You will probably have to take a test
