Pregnant? Help! On the nuvaring currently for the first time

Here's the story. I had a leep procedure (shaving off part of your cervix due to high risk pap) the end of march right after my period ended. 2 weeks later (mid april) I got the go ahead to have sex and start my new Birth Control nuvaring. That night we had unprotected sex in the middle of the night and the next morning I put in my nuvaring for the first time. Since then I've been having crazy hot flashes, I'm more tired, and sometimes feel alittle sick. I've already had 2 children and it only took us one time to conceive them, so I'm very fertile i guess. I still have about a week before I take out the nuvaring. What should I do? Am i just being paranoid?

I JUST TOOK A TEST AND IT'S POSITIVE! OMG, surprised! I'm definitely going to be happy soon.

It could definitely be the hormones in the ring giving you weird symptoms, i however was on the nuvaring. i had  a MC and went on the nuvaring right way after it and never got a period and ended up pregnant, so it is possible! especially since you had the sex before you even put it in and the time about 2 weeks after your period would most likely depending on your cycles, put you in a fertile time! good luck and hope things work out for you.

I agree. I used the ring and never had a single problem with it ever. But the hormones can definitely cause you to feel like you are pregnant. I would agree with alaysha and say take a test, especially if you are extremely fertile! Good luck!

The nuvaring always made me have weird symptoms. I swear I thought I was pregnant all the time. I never was. But if you had unprotected sex and then put it in... well you had unprotected sex. Birth control isn't going to work until a week after you put it in which is why they say to double up the method. Best thing to do is wait until you're supposed to take it out and take a pregnancy test. Or take one now since you would have had sex 2 weeks ago and it should be pretty accurate.
