Have you talked to the dr about getting an IUD? I'm not sure if they're all hormonal or not...but if you can't use b/c then when you know you're going to ovulate avoid sex for a week before and a few days after. NO time in your cycle is really safe to have unprotected sex though. Have you tried spermicide? Good luck in the birth control hunt, I hope you find something that works for you! And you're welcome!

I agree with the above posters, but I know where you're coming from. I'm allergic to the NuvaRing, OrthoEvra patch (bc of the adhesive), vaginal contraceptive foam, and there's only one type of condom I can use that doesn't irritate me and it's a trojan brand. Unfortunately a good bit of the time the condoms break or tear due to too much friction. Also, I can't go on any birth control right now bc I'm having some issues with high blood pressure.

However, to prevent pregnancy, you should look into Mirena. My midwife said it shouldn't cause as much side effects as regular birth control. Also you could chart your bbt or use something like vcf, diaphragm, or spermicide.

I agree, there's dozens of options for BC. There's also non-hormonal choices as well. Ovulation calendars are a guess at best and nothing more. Unless you chart your BBT and use OPK's you will never know when you ovulate.

Side effects are going to happen no matter what you go on. This is because they're hormonal and they're a very small price to pay versus having a child before you're ready.

The difference in pulling out when you're not ovulating and when you are ovulating is that you can not get pregnant without ovulation--- otherwise there's nothing there for the sperm to join with.

When there's pre-ejaculation, there's much less sperm. So your chances are low anyway. But, if you can figure out your ovulation every month (if your period is regular) try not to have intercourse 4 days before and 2 days after I would say. What about an IUD have you tried or looked into that? There's soooo many options out there, you may be able to find something.

My intentios were not to judge and I apologize. If you know when you ovulate, that's a great way to start with not getting pregnant.

I wasn't judging, I was simply stating facts. Have you talked to your Dr about the depo shot or maybe the patch (not sure if its offered where you are) what about the non-latex condoms? Those feel weird to me though. There's other form of BC that are not the pill or condoms. Even the nuva ring can be pretty effective, that way you can go on and enjoy your life and not have to stress every month.

Thank you very much for your reply smj . Ppl dont seem to realize that we come here with questions that need to be answered not tp be judged or downed . So amy you coyld have pretty much kept your comments to yourself all you had to simply do was answer the question or let it be . No need for smart remarks. I know it is nt a birth control method and cant take birth control because of health reasons and im also allergic to condoms . So before you judge you probably should have simply asked why im using neither . And thank you once again smj im just going to play the waitng game and see

First and foremost, any question you have, and as many as you have are WELCOME! Don't STOP asking anything if you have a question, you are here NOT to be judged, but to get advice.

I haven't seen any of your other posts, so I'm just going to answer this one.

The pull out method is NOT a form of birth control, it's a form of Russian Roulette. Whether or not you get pregnant from it is hit or miss. Pre ejaculate does contain trace amounts of sperm, and as we all know it only takes one to get pregnant. How sure are you that you were ovulating? Ovulation happens about 14 days BEFORE your period ie, if you have a 28 day cycle...on day 14, if you have a 30 day cycle on day 16. BUT you can ovulate a day or two early or late each month. There really is no way of knowing for sure when you are going to ovulate, so I suggest trying to find an actual birth control or using condoms. Wait until your period is due before you test, any sooner and you may get a false result. After ovulation it can take 6-12 days for a fertilized to implant and another 24-48 hours for the HCG levels to be high enough to show positive on a test, so it's always best to wait until at least the day your period is due to test.

And from reading all your other posts, I think you need to stop having sex until you snmarten up about it! Plan B and pull out are NOT birth control methods!

Pull out is NOT any kind of method! When a man is aroused he has pre-ejaculation and there is sperm in that. If you know you were ovulation wait 2 weeks and take a test. And if you're not trying to get pregnant, I strongly suggest looking into a relaible method!
