SEVERE Pelvic Pain:(

Starting about 3 weeks ago I have been having HORRIBLE pelvic pain and found out that it is actually called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction.  Sometimes it almost feels like the bone might break in half.........I know it really won't do this, but that is what it feels like!  Then I read that if the mother is mishandled during birth that the pubic symphysis can separate even more or be permanantely damaged.  What?!

Does anyone suffer from this?  Has anyone had this and after delivery went back to normal?  Thanks for any help!!!!

Oh yeah, I am 27 weeks today................sorry to re-post.

I haven't been given a belt.............will I need to buy one?  I called my doctor this morning and all he told me to do was take Tylenol before bed!  I don't have another actual appointment until May 20th so I am sure I will be talking to him more about it then if this continues.  It is the strangest pain I have ever had!

Thanks

Have you been given a support belt to wear?

I have been offered physio but M/W says it may not help.

Basically all i got was a list of "dont do this" and "dont do that"

Ive had this pain for about 6 weeks now its getting worse by the day.

What did your doc suggest???

xx

Wow!  Thanks so much for answering................I figured there has to be someone else suffering with this too.  You are sooooooo right--turning over in bed is agony for me as well:(  I feel your pain!  I don't know how to handle this for 13 more weeks.  I suffer with it throughout the day as well especially after sitting for a few minutes.  I really don't want a c-section either!  I will say a prayer for you.....

I was diagnosed with this yesterday and given a body band (a massive tubi grip) and painkilers to try help. Im almost 24 weeks and its agony.

Turning over in bed can reduce me to tears.

I told my M/W yesterday that i dunno if i can handle this for another 16 weeks and she said to see how i go and we can discuss alternatives and induction later.

Most people i have spoken to have lost all symptoms within 4-6 weeks of birth but some people struggle and many need c-sections.

Im so fed up :(
