Scared.. confused... brown discharge

I am 32 with two beautiful boys, 15 and 11.. My partner and I have been trying for a year now, and in May I miscarried, the fetal pole didnt progress passed 7.5 weeks.. Now I found out that I am pregnant again, and today I should be 7wks 3days, yesterday I started to have a brown discharge when i wipe, I had some discomfort, but nothing that would even compare to a period cramp or worse, more like a sensative belly.. I told the doctor I wanted to stay in bed instead of running to get yet another ultrasound, I have one already scheduled for Monday, so I would wait and  just stay in bed.  I am so scared, I did everything right and am only hopping that this will all work out, but I dont want to get my hopes up and would rather just except defeat, has anyone out there had such a problem? How long did the discharge last? what do they consider tissue? This all started after I had to poop, has this happened to anyone else?

Dont you go scaring me, was is bloody spotting or just that brown stuff??  Because we seem to be going threw the same exact stuff.. I mean litterally, I guess I am just nuts, and it must be gas too, because I could power a small car right now, LOL!  Sorry to hear about the uncle, tell him we dont need that right now.. I cant wait to feel movement again myself, I remember that the most with my boys, and that was decades ago.. I cry over everything too!  Oh but wait, are you dreaming of food yet, the past two nights has been torture. First it was McD's egg mcmuffins, which I dont even like, and than last night were Hoagies, which we are not even suppose to eat lunch meat.. But it starts and than I am up all night starving, I should just get up and eat, but than I get heartburn.. Ran out of Baking Soda, which I have to say, it nasty to drink, but really worked for days... Food really does make me sick now too, but I cant stop thinking about the weirdest stuff.. Stuff I wouldnt put in my mouth..
Yea we laugh about the whole online thing too, but honestly he is my soul mate, and I am a tough cookie.. I dated like I changed cloths, everything would turn me off, and on to the next guy, LOL!  Usually no more than a dinner or hanging out for a night... but not with Matthew, he would give up on me, so here we are, REALLY!  Everything is perfect, we never ever fight...  I hear you on the house thing too, I make the boys clean it all the time, are you dying on that one.. LOL.. Yea I do small stuff, but I believe they need to know how to do stuff, I dont want them to get married or settle just because they want there cloths clean.. So they each have jobs and alternate the others, there room is there only messy part and I make that get done every other day or so.. I dont do dishes, laundry, all kinds of things.. And I am total neat freak.. We have four dogs, Manchester Terrier(Med. size), black and tan coon hound(big boy), and two mini pinschers, who I am going to breed next year, hopefully.. I have a waiting list already, they are like potato chips, bet you cant have just one, LOL!  Yea I am worried about the baby, but honestly these dogs are always with us, they dont go outside, except to do the deed and come back in, so they are very friendly and get along so good, three are young, so we have a rough period on and off during the day, but they are well trained, I mean I am home all day with them, and the babies room will be off limits, I plan on putting those squishy floor matts down and really making the room safe and that will be kind of a play pen area, it is right here, we are all on one floor, 1800SQ feet, it is one big open room, with three bedrooms off on one side, and a big bathroom that is also my laundry room... really big, I designed it myself, big island between areas..
Oh well got to go and get ready to vote, LOL!! and do some shopping, feel better and keep those legs up... remember cant lose my pg buddy, you keep me going...

Hi there! Sorry that I'm just getting around to posting, but it's been one of those days.  I was spotting earlier, so a trip to the doctor was in order.  Turns out all is well, baby is looking good and it's probably just placental growth.  Also, I found out that my uncle went to the hospital by ambulance. He has heart problems, so we're always on the edge when he takes a trip to the hospital. I should find out more tonight.
Anyway, I briefly had a chance to check out that site.  Very impressive!  I'll have to go back on there for contact info. :)  I love those on-line dating stories that work out.  That's so neat!
No flutters yet.  Anything I feel is gas, another fun part of pregnancy.  Oh, did I say fun?  I meant gross. Oh well. There will be plenty of time for movement.  I loved when I was pregnant with Gabriel. The only 2 bad things I remember were heartburn, and then back pain later on. Oh yeah, and my wrists & ankles hurt a lot. Not sure what that was about, but it went away right after I had him.  With this one, I'm nauseated, exhausted, moody, having minor heartburn, not much appeals to me food-wise, gassy, and of course the peeing thing. My house grosses me out no matter how much I clean, which my husband finds amusing. I cry over the weirdest ****. Anyway, a little less than 7 months to go, right? Geez, I'm in trouble.
Hey, same with me last time. Only sore boobs. I should've known something was wrong. But I'd rather feel everything than nothing at all. Like you said: well worth it.
Well, talk to you soon. :)

Yea How many are there?  My first two were easy peeezzy compared to this one.. I agree on the kids vitamins they work great, and I cant take the prenatals at night either, considering I dont sleep much anyway, being sick all night would really suck!

Anywho, yea I watch alot of moives.. Me(Sherry), Shawn(oldest), Jonathan(youngest), and of course Matt.. Believe it or not, I met Matt online, threw aol.. He bugged me for almost two years to go out with him, and I wouldnt because he was to young, than one day I gave in.. And found out, he worked for my family for a long time, and I didnt even know it.. It was basically love at first sight.. My dog loved him too.. LOL! and she hated everyone..  Well how was the last few days for you?  usual here, throwing up, peeing all the time, tired like crazy, heartburn (found out that a tsp of baking soda in water takes that away, and doesnt make me sick).. All the brown yucky stuff has been gone for awhile now, so keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes good at this next checkup. This is when I found out last time, that I was m/c.. Had a bloody wipe and went in for that ultrasound and everything was no good.. But I am hopefull this time, you feeeling any weird gassy like flutters yet?  I do and dont, and wonder if it is in my head.. but they make me feel better anyway, I didnt feel anything last time, even pg symptoms.. Just sore boobs!  This time is rough, but well worth it... Oh and I have lived everywhere, too.. VA, Boston, TX, CA, PA(Scranton, Philly), NJ.. I like to move around, but am enjoying living in my box now, LOL!  I do the web page for our fire company, www.sthc36.com, I am on there!  LOL! and am the webmaster, which emails my reall account!  Hint Hint!  At least I  think anyway!  Ok, So it is 11am, and I bet your day is just getting started, well be good and hope you feel better than me..

Happy to entertain! :)
Your advice is all wonderful!  Except for the vitamin thing. It just doesn't matter when I take them, I get nauseated. Take them at night, I wake up sick. Take them in the morning, I'm sick in the afternoon. I seem to be responding well to my toddler's Flintstone vitamins. We both pop our vitamins in the morning, and we're good to go. I have to admit that lack of fluids was a big factor with my fatigue, and have found that since I boosted my intake in the last week or so, I have a bit more energy. I wasn't not drinking, just not drinking enough. I learned all about the downside of stress with my first pregnancy. I was so stressed out with work & worry, I ended up with Bell's Palsy in my 4th month. How crazy is that? Besides, once I saw that little heartbeat on the u/s a few weeks ago, my worrying got cut down by about 85%. It's just that after I had that m/c, I can't let go of all my fear.
Wait a minute. Your first 2?  How many kids do you have?

I find all of your posts funny.  I remember what it was like with my first two and man, the morning sickness was hell.  As for prenatal vitamins - the trick is to take them before you go to bed.  They contribute to the nausea when you are awake, but it doesn't seem to bother you when you sleep.  That's the secret to that.  As for energy, make sure you are getting plenty of proteins and carbs in your diet.  Those are what give you energy.  Eat 4 or 5 small meals day instead of 3 larger meals.  That will aid in avoiding heartburn, nausea and fatigue.  Your body is working extra hard making another life, you need to make sure you are supplying it with enough nutrients to do so.   Don't overeat though.  Healthy snacks like fruits and salads with help with any constipation you might have as they are high in natural fiber.   When pregnant the bowels slow down to allow more nutrient absorption which can cause constipation.  Drink plenty of fluids.  As for stressing yourself over whether or not you might miscarry.  That stress is harmful to your pregnancy.  More harmful than jogging and an exercise routine.  Stress causes your heartrate to speedup, your veins to contrict, and can have adverse effects on a normal pregnancy, that intensify on a high risk pregnancy.  Calm down and enjoy your pregnancy, no matter how gross it might seem, it is a beautiful thing.

The weather out here has been hot, then cold; windy, then calm.  Basically, a lot of back & forth, and that hot/windy weather has caused a lot of problems with fires here in SoCal, and a lot of families have lost their homes. I think even folks down in San Diego are experiencing issues with fires. So sad!  But I only like that crisp cold, not that freezing-your-buns-off cold. That's good cuddle weather. Ruben (hubby), Gabriel (son) and I (Brandi) all like to hang out at home & watch movies in that kind of weather. When it's hot though, it's time to hit the outdoors, or sit in front of the fan. :)  TX to CA to PA? Where did you meet your hubby? You crack me up! Robbing the cradle? Good job. :)
Anyway, back to work for me. I'll check in around lunch. Have a great day!

cloudy and rainy, my gush was the unpleasant brown snotty like yuck again, but it seems to be getting better, tonight my back is killing me.. How funny life is, I have been able to drink mild products now that I am pg.. usually I cant go near anything with milk!  Hahahah so you are getting up when I am leaving my messages.. How was the weather out there, I use to live in San Diego when I was younger.. It is cold here too.. Something I dont really get use to.. I was born in Texas.. Matt likes to live in a box.. He is a prison guard and a capt in the fire dept.. so I am stuck here.. This is his first baby, he is only 25, but to much like an old man.. LOL... I could ask for anything more.. Yea I robbed the cradle, but we click and have been together for years now.. Well I gotta go lay down, my back hurts and I am a bit crampy, but nothing major..

I'm in Huntington Beach, CA.  I'm at work right now in Long Beach though. :)  I'm pretty limited to water myself, other than OJ.  I can't drink milk because apparently I've developed some sort of intolerance to it. Pregnancy causes the strangest things to happen. Anyway, water is fine by me because it doesn't have any taste and doesn't offend my senses. A gush of yuck, huh?  Sounds lovely, and terribly familiar.  One thing's for sure, we're always on our toes, aren't we? I never made it to the Old Navy site yesterday, I ran out of time. But I am so anxious to see what they have. :)
What's the weather like in Scranton today?

sorry to hear this, I just saw your post myself. We are here for you and again, there was nothing you could have done.. My m/c in May was the same, they kept telling me I was a week behind what I knew I was.. and slowing the baby just stopped growing and ended at a fetal pole.. But my HCG levels went threw the ruff, but after 5 u/s nothing had happened or miracle happened.. so I had a d&e two weeks later my self, and all I ever had was a bloody wipe when I had a poop.. at tens weeks they heard no heart beat either, but they assured me that that was normal.. So sorry for you, but give it time and you will be p/g in no time at all, look at us.. three months later... so relax and let it happen, you didnt do anything wrong...

I for some reason felt so bad yesterday DAY! But around 2 I took a nap, and than took my sons gummy vitamins, and I was ready to rock and roll.. I dont know what happened but I felt like a new girl... At least till I got home anyway, LOL!  I hear what you are saying about the ginger, but I get the worst heartburn when I drink anything with ginger in it, so right now I am trying to just eat little meals, and I such a water freak, and that makes it worse, but I dont drink anything else, and I do mean nothing.... I am wearing the velor ones now and they are soooo comfy from old navy, I am going back and buying more, I would have gotten more, but I wanted to see how they fit.. I had a big gush of yuck yesterday and than it just stopped, weird.... no bloodyness, just snot looking brown stuff, but I googled it again yesterday, and founda ton of people who did it for just as long, so that made me feel better...  So I never asked, where you lived.. I am an east coast girl!  Out here in Scranton, PA... Yes like the Office on TV.. LOL!!  But honestly I dont watch it! I am a survior girl and than CSI.. it is around 10:22am right now.. Are you out of bed yet?? LOL!!

I think the next appointment will include an u/s, but not too sure.  At the very least, I'll hear the heartbeat.  Ah, music to my ears.
Okay, I'm going to the Old Navy web-site in a bit.  I'm sure I'll find something I like. ;)
I know what you mean abut not being able to get comfy.  Even on a new mattress, it's been hard to find the right position.  I'm always waking up and shifting, so I'm getting very little rest at night. Bummer.  But you just reminded me that I have one of those big long C-shaped pregnancy pillows in storage, so I think I'll get it out tonight.  My dad got it for me when I was pregnant with my son, and I loved it.  I highly recommend it as a matter of fact.
That peeing issue you're having is very familiar, but what can we do?  It's very inconvenient at work, but everyone thinks it's so cute.  Whatever.  I'll show them cute.   I also found a remedy for my nausea: ginger tea.  It has done a pretty good job of keeping my stomach in balance.  It's a bit spicy and it makes me burp, but it works.
As for our upcoming visits to the dr., I'm sure all will be just fine. :)

I had the same thing happen to me back in July/Aug of this year and I could not find any answer so I will share my experience with you.  My brownish discharge presented the same way, after a bowel movement.  I went to the docotr the next day and had an ultrasound-it was normal-but my bhcg was low for my 6 weeks gestation.  I had a follow up u/s a week later and a bchg-still low, but a normal heart rate on u/s with a small gestational sac. I then had some pain one day and I just knew that something had gone wrong-no bleeding though, just the same brownish discharge.  I had another f/u u/s and this showed fetal dimise.  I wanted for 2 weeks and needed a d&c.  The key for me was the whole time I had very low bhcg and they never doubled once like they are supposed to.
I know I have read alot of women have "normal" bleeding, so hopefully this is the category that you fall inot.  I only gave you my story as I had trouble finding information out when I was in a time of need.
Good luck to you and keep us updated!

Well I live on the second floor too, we built a house that over looks a lake, and it has a fully functional mechanics garage downstairs, that is matts hobby.. so I guess we are in the same boat with the steps, because I know I cant move.. I guess if you take it easy you should be ok.. I started to get that gunk again yesterday, I guess it never really stopped, so I have been off my feet again.. I must pee 45 times a day, every 10 mins it seems, how about U?  It seems to be worse when I am constipated, which lately has been all the time, I am soooo looking forward for next three weeks to be over, 9 wks on wednesday... I got the pants from old navy today, and let me tell you, they are soooo comfy, and were only 11.00, online.. blue yoga with a fold down waist.. I havent gotten to the gray plush ones yet, but they are soooo soft.. I love shopping online... do you have another u/s on the 19th too.. I hope everything is ok with us both.. I am not sleeping to well, I just cant get cuffy, I need to get a big body pillow, and it really sucks that I cant sleep on my tummy now, feels like I have a softball there... I found that the heartburn it ok, if u just follow the rules of thumbs everyone says, small meals and dont lay down after you eat, I stay away from greasy spicy food too.. well hope u stay well and keep those feet up!

Okay, so it turns out I'm just meant to be nauseated and exhausted in the afternoons.  It's not as bad as when I was taking the pre-natals, but I'm still getting it, whether I take vitamins or not.  Oh well.  Four more weeks to trimester #2, and hopefully things will taper off a bit.  My heartburn started to hit me this weekend, and it was not pleasant at all.  As of now, we're having the same symptoms.  I know that feeling though, being scared and all.  But as long as it made it's way to the back of our heads, maybe it will end up in a dark corner in our minds very soon.  As things progress, hopefully things will get easier in the fear department. Hey, I have my next appointment on the 19th too. :)  How funny!  As for shopping at home, I might have to start doing that in the next few months anyway. What's the rule about climbing stairs during pregnancy?  I heard that 20 weeks is the cut-off. I live on the second floor, and my husband & I said that we would stay there until we bought a house, but I heard that you're not supposed to take stairs during pregnancy. Any advice on the subject?

Yea me too.. But in the back of my head I am still scared.. I guess the boys are excitited, as long as they dont have to share a room with the little one, LOL! Or change diapers, but I wouldnt make them do that.. Yea I really miss when they were young, now my oldest is more of a handfull, but I am strict so things are not so bad... I will have to try my kids vitamins, I think the other ones are just to much of something... You are going to have your hands full, two babies.. How fun, mine are 4 years apart, and now 12 and 16 years... Not to sure I want another one after this, this pg is rough on me, I am so tired, nauseious, heartburn, my boobs are killing me... But who knows, if I dont get my girl, I just may have to try again, LOL....  Oh well glad to hear you are doing soo well now, my next doc, and u/s is on the 19th of November... I love to shop at home, I mean I love to shop at a store too, but at home is so much easier, bought the boys coats, besides, when you shop online you save more money, just search for the store you are shopping at and google discounts, I have saved a bundle on shoes, and cloths, etc..  And stores offer more online than at there locations usually... Well gotta go, making meatballs and the smell is killin me right now.. I need to go eat a horse!

Lifting computers, huh?  I bet they feel pretty lame now for making you do that. Lol!  I'm glad that all is well, even if you will have your hands full with an active one. :)  It's so exciting, isn't it?  I have a toddler already and we're always playing at home. But when he's pooped out, he'll lay in bed with me and watch a movie and drift off, usually after his bath. You have 2 older boys, right? Do you miss when they were little? I know I will when mine get older.  Are they excited about you being pregnant? How funny, you know what? I don't shop from home a lot, but I DO shop at Old Navy.  I love that place.  In fact, I just bought some tops from there.  I think I will invest in some pants next. As for the vitamins, I had some good responses from others regarding that issue, and I ended up trying a couple of my little one's Flintstone's vitamins this morning, and I feel great. Well, maybe not great, but definitely a lot better than I have been. I highly recommend this route for you if your pre-natals are giving you problems. The real test will be how I feel tonight though.  If all goes well, then I'll continue this way until I hit 12 weeks, then resume my pre-natals. I'm just happy that I can finally enjoy this pregnancy. Yay!

Well I blew out my disks by lifting computers, they took a senior tech(me) and decided to put me on a project to move computers around, and well havent been back to work in two years, and who knows what is going happen.. I know I cant go back to crawling under desks and lifting computers bags, I repair them.. So why not have a baby when I am already stuck at home.. I am out on comp.  and I figure if I cant have babies that is just as big as a problem as going back to work.. So sense I am under all this doctors care now, might as well as well try now.. I really want this so bad, I have only one ovary too, so I am so afraid I am not going to be able to have kids again, and I want to give my partner that so bad, he is such a good guy and will be such a good dad.. I finally stopped spotting, I am not to sure if maybe it was due to the fact that I was due to get my period that week too.. Well who knows, but I think the baby it right in the front of my belly, I know he is from the ultrasound, and if I lay on my side and my knees are up, I feel like I have worms, it just started.. But it causes me to stop and focus on that feeling.. At the ultrasound the baby was all over the place, and wouldnt sit still when we were listening to the heart beat.. I think I am going to have my hands full.. But it is all worth it.. I have put on a ton of weight, but I am not doing anything too.. I went on old navy's web site and found some really inexpensive maternity pants... Ordered them yesterday.. Yea I shop from home.. LOL!!  Well glad to see you are feeling better too, yea I am still altering my days on the vitamins too..

I did come in late, but only like 30 minutes.  I know, I'm a goofball.  Sounds like you already had enough going on before the pregnancy.  Yikes!  Sorry you're going through the additional pain, but it's forcing you to rest, so that's good.  Guess what.  I haven't taken my vitamins in 2 days and I woke up this morning feeling pretty good.  No sickness.  I'm a little tired, but nothing compared to the past few weeks.  I think I will have to space them out over the week or something.  I refuse to not take them, but maybe spacing them out will be okay.  Any thoughts?  As for showing, I have a little pooch already, and my clothes seem to be getting snug too.  Not all, but most.  I haven't gained any weight though, so maybe it's all shifting to the belly.
How the heck did you blow out 6 disks anyway?

I hope you came in late today.... I have been flat on my back all day pretty much.. I guess I should explain, I am out ot work right now with a bad back, blew out six disks, had three fixed, but still have my lower back out.. LOL.. So I have plenty of time to rest, acutally I cant do much with the pain that shots down my left leg, hahahah!  Well besides the spotting seems like it may have stopped or slowed down, nothing today so far, so kuddles for that.. Anywho, your lucky I wake up with energy and by 3-4 I cant stand to open my eyes, I am soooo sick by than, my days and nights are backwards... so hope all is well!  And go home and put the feet up, oh I ment to ask, are you showing yet... Sense this is my third, pg, well actually my fifth, I have a big old potbelly already and no cloths that fit! LOL..

Stellkas, I agree with swade. You may not be as far along as you think.  Please try not to stress.  That's extra work for your body right now, and who needs that? :)

Swade, I should slap myself, but I ended up staying here at work.  I started to feel better around 1:30, which is a long time to push myself, I know.  But I am feeling better.  Always around 1:30/2:00, I start to feel good, then I'm exhausted by the time I leave work (5:00) because I take advantage of the energy boost. Anyway, I am so glad that one of us has sense enough to rest. Maybe I'll come in late tomorrow...

I am relaxing!!  Yea this one is rough, nothing like the rest myself.. I breast hurt when I am lying there, but I take it with a grain a salt.. And love every minute of it!  It is the grossest time I have had...  I am not sleeping at all at night...Well hope your day was good relaxing at home..
