I am using everything they told me to do. I will be induced at 39w thats the earliest the doctor will do it.
Sounds like PUPPP and that was suspected in my first pregnancy until my liver enzymes were shown to be elevated shortly after birth, so it was either that or PUPPP. I tried everything nothing helped but I will give you a few suggestions
- Urea based lotions (reduces dryness and itchiness)
- Dead sea salt bath
- Mild cortisone based creams (not harmful at this stage of the pregnancy)
- Olive oil
- Baking soda
- Lavender based lotion as homeopathic as possible
I ended up being induced at 38 w 6 d, my daughter came at exactly 39 weeks, I don't regret it as it was unbearable in the end, I slept perhaps 3-4 hours per night during the last two weeks, and I had bumps everywhere except my face, between my fingers and toes, it drove me insane. Try and keep baby in as long as possible and once it becomes unbearable then you can think about inducing, that's what I did. I sympathise with you, I'm itching now too and was told to induce at 37 weeks (next week) but I'm waiting until 38 weeks and see how it still is then. All the best.
Yes i had that in my first pregnancy, cool bath, oatmeal bath with the package or real oatmeal. Also make a paste with corn startch and water works well. Annnd gold bond or lanacane cream! I had it very severely starting in my 7th month it was awful! Good luck hun!
Yes this is my first pregnancy. I hope that ot gets better. But I am so ready to meet my little one. And I am glad I will still be prego at christmas so all my family can see my bump before it is gone.
Thats exciting that you may get induced on the 26th, that way you can still look forward to Christmas... Is this your first baby? I hope this cream helps and the remainder of your pregnancy gets better... Congrats and good luck! :) Hang in there!
PS for anyone reading these posts... Shingles follow a nerve path so they will only ever be on one side of your body, never crossing the center to the other side and are very painful, and ***** blisters form.... definitly different than this...
Went to my 37w appt today. And they confirmed that I do have PUPPP. They gave me some meds to try and said to use an oatmeal.bath but to make it into a paste and put it on. If it is still bad next.week at my 38w appt. She will induce me at 39w which is the 26th. So I will be finding out in a week what is going on. I also got checked I am still closed and 2cm long.
i had shingles in my pregnancy with my daughter my skin got insanely itchy and i had blisters that would form in little groups they started as like a rash and puffed out into full on blisters my dr. described it as like an insideout chicken pox.. it was very painful and i have a really ugly scar on my shoulder from it ... i hope you are ok and that u dont have this
I would agree you fit the symptoms for pupps. I know there are a couple of different rashes that you can get during pregnancy that are annoying but won't hurt you or that baby at all. Hope your Dr. can shed some light on the situation and give you some relief. I would try to stay away from anti-itch creams unless your Dr gives the go ahead, some aren't very good during pregnancy. Good Luck I hope it goes away soon and you get some relief!
im 32 weeks and going through the EXACT same thing! I even have the random little bumps like on my back and legs. My dr just keeps saying its dry skin
I put everything on my skin. I put lotion, vitamin e oil, burts bees belly balm, anti itch cream. And nothing seems to help. I have an appt tomorrow. So I will ask them then. I also looked on google and it says it could be pupps (i think thats hows its spelt on there. )
I had the same problem in my first pregnancy-try not to itch-I used a cold flannel & draped it across my bump-must be cold! Alternatively keep some body cream in the fridge & when you feel an itch pop some on but dont rub in to much.
I know its horrible but i found it subsided as my bump grew.
Hope something works for you x
It is still probably from your skin stretching. I know my stretch marks started out as small bumps. Try try try not to itch! I know how horrible it is though and it's tough not to.
The best thing to do is keep your skin as moisturized as possible. Different things work for different women. Now's the time to lather up with some creams!!
