Sex

I gave birth to my son exactly 2 weeks ago. All I can think about is having sex with my husband. I was told to wait 6 weeks when we left the hospital. During delivery I did not tear, I have no stitches, everything was fine and I had almost completely quit bleeding before we left the hospital! Should I wait the whole 6 weeks or would it be safe. I'm a FTM and this is all new to me!

Its not just the external stuff going on. No stitches doesn't mean no entry point for germs. When you have a baby your placenta literally rips from your uterine wall, leaving a hole in your uterus as well ad any damage from you cervix stretching. Putting anything in that environment from outside, penis, tampons, toys etc can cause massive infection and right now you're a breeding ground.

I say go for it I had sex that two weeks postpartum I enjoyed it make sure you have some lube just in case you need it and if you're worried about getting pregnant again although it's highly improbable two weeks after you have a baby.you can still happen I would say either pull out or  use a condom

I waited 5 weeks. .although I had a lot of stitches so I had to wait for them to heal and dissolve..
otherwise  I probably would have waited a few weeks to be honest.  You're more prone to get an infection  and  use bc if you don't want another baby right away.

I think u should let your body heal a little. Having sex before the recommended time can cause infection and cause heavy bleeding. It's a personal decision though.  I waited 5 weeks, but I had stitches. It was harder than I thought lol

I would wait but heaps of girls havent and they were fine. If you feel like you want to and take it easy and go at a pace thats comfortable to you, dont see why not, i thought the 6 weeks was just for our comfort type thing but i may be wrong. :) best wishes.
