Ok ladies, i had my daughter on Monday, shes been in the NICU so I wasn't able to start breastfeeding with her right away. We've had some trouble with latching on, which im sure is causing some of the nipple pain! But while shes still in the hospital and im home im still pumping so that I can use breastmilk and get some relief since my boobs are KILLING me! But anyway, my nipples are sooooo sore. Any tips on how to get some relief???
Lanolin nipple cream really helps! I lived off from it with my first, and also expressing some breast milk and rubbing it on your nipple will help too. I've heard dipping your nipple in salty warm water will take away some of the pain, too. Good luck I hope they feel better soon!!
The cream is brilliant stuff!! I was thinking of switching to formula cos it hurt to feed but with support and cream we r now doing brilliant n baby has gained weight in her first few days lol apparently i must hav super milk in my boobs lol
Warm salt water, warm compress, lanolin, olive oil, and expressed breastmilk. I've been exclusively bfing for three weeks and my nipples still feel slightly tender after pumping and his initial latch on.
