Stretch Marks

Hi Ladies!  Hope everyone is well!
I am pregant with my first child.  I am now 27 weeks.  My belly has grown so fast and now I am getting stretch marks.  I've been using this "stretch mark' prevensin cream by Palmers, but guess it's not working.  I'm so bumed about this cause my breast grew so fast (2 cups sizes) and they too have marks!
I fear I will look like a road map by the time I hit 40 weeks!!

I know some say there is nothing you can do to prevent them, but I'm a skeptic and think it doesn't hurt to try?

Any suggestions?

Creams don't work.....Nor does it matter how much weight you put on...It the make up of your own body.

i put on 63pounds with my son and i have stretch marks all over my body, i never found any products that helped and i think it is just a thing that we have to get used to. They do fade but they still look very unsightly.

I am 37w3d today and I only have stretch marks on my hiney.  I spent alot of money on the Palmers stuff too.  =)  It is all about genetics.  My mom did not get a single stretch mark with 4 of her kids, but on the last one she gained LESS, but earned a TON of stretch marks.  The body is a funny thing.  I am 30 years old, I'll be 31 in July, so I really don't think it has anything to do with your age, no matter if you are 18 or 38 when you get pregnant, we can't stop those beautiful badges that we get with pregnancy.  =)

Good thing is they will fade once the baby is born!

Happy Healthy Pregnancy!!

Alot of people say that there are remodies to help them from comeing in other words getting strech marks.  Some people get them and some don't.  There is absolutely nothing that will help them go away  you skin is stretching out so therefore so is your skin no cream or anything like that is going to help them go away or prevent them from comeing. In cases like this don't believe them remidies cause it is false.  Your body stretches you're going to have stretch marks.  Gd luck happy health baby!

I was very young and had a nice body when i got preggo with my first. One morning I woke up and had like 5-6 stretch marks on belly and freaked out. I yelled for my grandma and she said there's nothing you can do but live with them. I was so upset. I scratched and that was the wrong thing to do! if you scratch it makes them deep and dark. I'm sorry but congrats on the baby. Wish u the best of luck.
God Bless!!!!

I am with the other 2 posters. It is genetic and pretty much they are inevitable if it runs in your family. I know that keeping your belly lotioned and moist helps prevent the itching which in turn helps prevent the stretch marks from getting too bad but if you are meant to get them than you are meant to get them. I myself am 27 weeks 2 days and so far (knock on wood) have not gotten any stretch marks. That doesn't mean I won't get them but who knows. I have been using the Palmer's lotion as well but only to help with the itching. I avoid scratching my belly at all costs because I have heard that scratching can make them worse. Either way, all you can really do is keep yourself lotioned and your skin soft to give your skin some extra elasticity.

sorry to disappoint you but there is no way to avoid them.  I was stretchmark free until I hit my last month of pregnancy and that's when they all came out and with a quickness.  I wish I had answers for you.

I know how upsetting it can be but really there are no proven preventatives I got mine early but I'm having twins you can look in my pics and see.  But my Dr said that no matter what you use there's no sure way of not getting them.....they say it's just in your genes...
