I was 8 weeks pregnant and everything was fine. My doctor had my blood drawn and at my next appointment I was told I had the STI trich. I was prescribed 4 pills that would clear it up. I took those pills and 3 days later I started spotting. Long story short I ended up having a miscarriage after I took those pills. So for the person that commented that trich doesn't make u have a marriage is wrong because I had a miscarriage as a result of taking the medicine for trich.
I had something like that when I was preggers with my oldest son, although my doc didnt tell me what it was he did say it was an infection. I had to use a cream in my vagina for 2 weeks. He didnt discover it during a pap smear, he had actually diagnosed me with it by a simple cervical exam, the exam so so excrutiating I screamed so loud that other docs came rushing in. Im not sure what it was, but I had suspected my sons father of not being so faithful as he worked in a stip club lol.
also, when testing for std's the dr. does test for this. most dr's these days do rutine std screening when they do your pap. trichomonias is also a very common std. my dr. also told me its one of those ones you can catch off a toilet seat. tho rare as that might be, it is possable. and its completely curable.
it's not "tricks" it is trichomonas/trichomoniasis.....it is an std, that can lead to low birth weight and easier transmission(layman's terms) of the HIV virus....i've had it 3 times, and i have NEVER been told that was why i have miscarried, althought i have been told it can lead to sterility.....
i found this on a UK Health site-----
***Will trichomonas affect my chances of getting pregnant?
There is no evidence that trichomonas will affect your chances of getting pregnant.
***What happens if I get trichomonas when I’m pregnant?
Trichomonas may cause problems with a pregnancy. Some research suggests that it could lead to a premature birth or a baby with a low birth weight. Trichomonas can be passed to a baby during the birth and cause an infection in the baby’s vagina. This is not common and is not serious.
***A recent National Institutes of Health study found that treatment for another vaginal infection, trichomoniasis, with metronidazole might do more harm than good in pregnant women. Trichomoniasis, like bacterial vaginosis, has been shown to increase the risk of giving birth prematurely
nowhere did i find anything about it causing miscarriages....the only thing i could find related was bacterial vaginosis, and apparently it can cause miscarriage in the 2nd and sometimes 3rd trimesters, but i couldnt find anything about "trich" being a cause of miscarriage.....also, "trich", "clap" "BV", and many other diseases found in the vagina are found doing a pap smear.....and there is not a specific test that i am aware of, it's just part of a routine pap smear.....
