Yes I am 9 weeks pregnant with twins... and I knew it too. Because I got a positive pregnancy very early way before my missed period...and I was very sick and very tired. I started showing right away too. And I just had a feeling and I knew there were 2 in there. It's so neat
I have been wondering myself if I might be carrying twins. I got a very early BFP, it's my 3rd pregnancy and I never had morning sickness like this with the first 2 (I actually lost weight in the fist trimester I've been so sick), I have to pee ALL the time, and I look bigger than I should for 13 weeks. I do have a history of twins in my family too. I don't have an u/s scheduled yet but I really want to get one. It's the only way to be sure. I am excited to see if any of us turn out to be carrying twins so I'll be checking back. I'll keep you posted!

I have been wondering the same thing. I know that twins really are pretty rare but have been entertaining the thought. Here is what I know about my pregnancy.
1st beta hcg= 11/14/07 = 16 at 9dpo
2nd beta hcg= 11/16/07 = 75 at 11dpo
3rd beta hcg = 11/20/07 (today)=381.9 at 15 dpo
What does anybody know about my levels? I know that they were supposed to double every 2-3 days, but they are more than doubling every 2 days. Any thoughts? first ultrasound will be December 7th at 6 & 1/2 weeks+.
I just wanted to say that this was a wonderful question. This is my first pregnancy and after thinking about it and having a few things be brought to my attention, I could very possibly be having twins too! I have 4 sets of twins in my family, all on my mother's side and it's skipped a generation each time with the oldest child having the twins! Guess what? It's my generation and I'm the oldest! I'm 7w3d and at first I thought that I was just really bloated but then it never went down, so I already have a bump and can feel all sorts of pressure down there. As for symptoms, etc, I have had some pretty strong symptoms (stuffy nose, sore lower back, cramping, unbelievably sore boobs including white bumps on my areolas, major nausea although I haven't gotten sick yet, major fatigue, frequent urination..especially coming into my 7th week, being hungry more but being able to eat less...all sorts of stuff) I would say that I got them all slightly early because 2 weeks before I even took my test I knew I was pregnant, and I've never been pregnant before. I go for my first appt and hopefully first u/s on the 3rd but I have Caresource so I'm not sure if they'll do an u/s just yet - I'll be 9 weeks when I go in. After my appt, I'll post back on here and let everyone know what happened - Oh, and by the way, my best friend's sister had a u/s at 5 weeks 2 days and the technician seen she was going to have twins then!
Good luck and sticky baby dust to all!
I think an ultrasound could detect if the positioning was just right but you never know. My Dr. doesn't like to do an ultrasound unless you're unsure of LMP or having major problems. I'm not cramping or bleeding so I think chances of an ultrasound at this point are slim. Thanks girls for all of your support. Baby Dust to all!!!!
Hello everyone i have twins they are 12 and i hope that i have twins again with them I really didnt get sick until the end i went to 36 weeks and the were 5'9 and 5'8
can i ask could they tell in a u/s at 6 weeks 1 day if you are having twins?
nope, this will be my first! we are so excited! i know 3 months isn't long for trying, but i'm getting so impatient! a close friend of mine is also trying...she's been trying for a year. she just had her second m/c :-( i wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy. please let me know what happens at your appointment next month.
How exciting! Sounds like it maybe twins...Keep us posted!
My first appt isn't until the 28th because the holidays have the Dr. so backed up. I have been trying to conceive for almost a year with 2 m/c in that time. I will definitely be happy for this one to stick twins or not. Lots of Baby Dust to you! Do you have children already?
how exciting! when are you going in for your first u/s? please keep me updated! and send me some of your baby dust :-) how long have you been ttc? this will be cycle 3 for me and dh.
I actually got a BFP 6 days before my missed period and I am having crazy headaches and I swear I already look 4 months along and I'm an average sized woman. I know you can show earlier with 3rd and 4th pregnancies though. I would love twins but yes it will be a challenge. I do have two girls now I don't know why I just have a weird feeling that it might be twins. I'm only 5 wks right now.
yep, that was just from the experiences of the twin havers that i know. just wanted pass on the info that i've obtained... good luck to you!
after reading her post i also wanted to add that even after i started having some symptoms the tests were still saying negative for a little bit. but everyone is different.
i have two cousins with twins and my dad is a twin. i also have a client from work that just had twins over the summer. frat twins skip a generation so it's my generation to have twins. i have been asking questions to learn more about their "twin experience." they all said that they had elevated symptoms--their symptoms came much harder, much earlier. they tested positive very early in their pregnancy. do you suspect twins?? this is just their experience, but since they all said the same thing, i think it's a pretty good specimen. twins would be so much work and expense, however, they would be twice the fun! i am hoping to have just two children so if i had twins, that would be it for my hubby and i ;-) with you post name, i am assuming twins would make 4 children for you?? i hope you get what you are hoping for :-)
I have 3 year old twins. My symptoms were actually less than with my first daughter. I did have a feeling before the ultrasound tho. Well I joked about it after something I read. i was about 8-9 weeks i think and when i would lay down on my back I could feel the hardness of where my uterus was growing if i would feel on my lower stomach. Then i read in a book that you shouldn't feel that till about 12 or so weeks and if you do it could be multiple or you're farther along. So I joked that it was twins thinking I was just farther along. It ended up being twins. lol
