UTI medicine

Okay so last week I was taking antibiotics for both a UTI and a bacterial infection.. now i was pretty bad about taking them, i was supposed to take both of them twice a day for a week.. well, i made sure to take at LEAST once a day, they were making me quite sick, even when i ate and/or drank milk with them like i was supposed to and the few times i took them as i was supposed to, they made me sick to the point of puking.. and the last time i took them twice a day, the next morning i was so sick, i couldn't keep anything down and ended up puking 6 times before 10 AM.. I had to leave school, and I canNOT be missing school.. So, I stopped taking them after that. i had taken them for atleast a week and thought i'd be okay.. well now it feels like my UTI is just barely starting to come back again. UGH!!! so.. should i just take the rest of them and hope it helps.. should i take them twice a day and live with getting sick or what, i don't really know what to do.. It sucks. They make me feel like total ****.. i have.. let me see.. 6 of each left.

I'm assuming you are pregnant???  There's really no point in taking them if you are throwing them up...None of it will stay in your system.....If you are preggo, I'd call the on-call MD in the am and let them know the situation and they should be able to call a Rx into your pharmacy for you...something a little more mild.....Good luck

Thank you. Next appt is on Tuesday i hope it doesnt' get worse before then, cause i plan to wait until then.

well the metronidazole was prob. the culprit. you should go back and tell the doctor that you couldnt keep the med. down and try the metro gel for the bacterial infection and the pills for the uti. but you need to go back and get checked again. goodluck sweetie.

you should talk to your doctor...I had an extremely bad UTI at the begining of my pregnancy and i took all my meds just because i didnt want to have the uti...if your uti goes untreated, it could cause a mc. but if the meds are making you sick, you need to talk to your doctor and see if they have something else you can do about it. Also drink a glass of cranberry juice a day and that will help maintain your urinary tract...
