That's good to hear that eases me a little bit to know it's not so bad.
With Ivy for the first 2 months the first latch would make me yelp and squinch my face. lmao
Hubby thought it was funny and I told him if he knew what I was feeling he'd puss out.
So he gets the bright idea to try it out and screamed like a baby when she tried latch onto him!

Either way I'll be able to handle it.
I'm a tough cookie.
Even if it hurts I'll get through it because it's what's best for my son and I'll do what I gatta do.
I experienced the same exact thing!! I breastfed my son until he was 11 months (got pregnant when he was 8 almost 9 months) and once I stopped, around week 25 is when I noticed they got really sore again! It was awful and same thing with you, I wouldn't let DH get anywhere near them. lol. I thought it would be a nightmare to be breastfeeding my son now, and while the first 2-3 days were awful....it's now so much better. I mean he isn't quite a week old yet, but it's not as bad now. They did peel just a tad and bled a tiny tiny bit, but I used Lansinoh, and it has helped tremendously. I didn't really do anything to my nipples while I was pregnant, wasn't sure what to do, so hopefully someone can help you there. But wanted to let you know, that it was much easier this time around breastfeeding in the very beginning. With my first, it was a nightmare, no lie, for the first 5 months! But I never gave up. I'm so happy that this time around it's much easier, and Jesse latches like a pro and will nurse for 10-30 min. straight with no problems. It's wonderful. It may seem like it will hurt now...but I bet once you start nursing again, it will be a breeze and won't hurt for very long. The initial latch is always toe-curling, but I'm sure this will pass soon as well.
