I'm only 23 weeks and have had it well before pregnancy but they didn't wanna fix it knowing we were trying. Basically undo their work just to do it again. Whenever I sneeze or laugh I have to hold my hernia and push it in cause sneezing and laughing make it pop out and hurt more. Also when I eat to much I just have to sit there for awhile pushing/holding it in till it adjusts to stay on its own. I can't imagine how this is gonna be when I get even bigger. I've honestly contemplated getting a bouncy ball and pushing my hernia in and taping the ball across my stomach. Ya pushing it in hurts but not to bad as I've had it for years and just deal with it. My midwife suggested a belly band but that doesn't help enough without squeezing me everywhere else to the point of not being able to breathe haha
Well I'm sorry to hear you had complications but I'm happy to hear that I probably won't need one. I just don't want a c section at all. I have to get back to school and a c section would really make that hard. But I have an appointment next week so I'll ask then. Today it seems like the pain isn't as bad maybe it's pushed back in for now but I still want it fixed.
I had a csection not bcuz of the hernia but I am high risk & have other complications. I don't think having the hernia would be a cause/need for a csection but you'll have to talk to Ur dr about that. Although during my csection they were able to repair my hernia. My dr wasn't sure if he was going to be able to fix it but he was :-) he said that they usually are unable to repair it during a C.
Did you deliver naturally with the hernia or did they have to do a c section? I want a natural birth but wouldn't the pushing make the hernia worse?
I feel you... I didn't sleep really at all since 16wks through the whole pregnancy. There's not much you can do other than being regular that helps a lot. A few other things that helped was eating Raison Bran, eat good Greek yogurt like Oikios or Fage, it's safe to take probiotics when prego too. All these do is just help Ur digestive track. Also get a maternity support belt (u can get one on Amazon, or stores that sell maternity clothes. Ur almost to the end but I know how u feel... Somedays I just wanted to cry.
Thank you for the advice. It seems like they didn't know what to tell me. They just sent me home saying to take it easy. But how did you go about sleeping? Nothing can touch my belly not even the pillows I put between my legs. I was already not able to sleep just because of my pregnancy but now I haven't slept more than two hours straight in two days and I'm exhausted.
I had one.. Yes it's painful. Somedays worse than others. Try to keep regular (going poop on the regular). What the hernia is, is the intestines that protrude through a whole in the abdominal wall usually in the belly button area. If Ur constipated it pushes it out further so hurts more. So eat a lot of veggies & fruit. Foods high in fiber. Drink a lot of water. They won't do surgery now but can after baby.
