Update: Folic Acid: Curiosity

Well I didn't make it this month. Good luck to all you others ttc. I started AF around 1 pm today. Strangely enough, I did not have any indication I would have started other than sore breasts. No cramps or anything. I had a fair amount of white discharge yesterday and then today, AF. I'm taking folic acid right now. Is their anything else I should be taking along with that? And I should be taking it throughout my ttc span right???  I am a little bummed but it's only been two months of trying. Here's to the 3rd.. May it be my charm :)

Thank you all so much. I will give OPK's a try, possibly. Have any of you seen the Women's One a Day prenatal vitamin? I wonder if that is any good.

I started taking prenatal vitamins about 3 months before we started TTC and folic acid about 1 year before TTC.  When I started the prenatal vitamins I stopped the folic acid because my vitamins had a high amount of folic acid in them and I didn't want to take too much.  Sorry it didn't work this cycle but fingers crossed for the next.  I also agree with Cassandrajane with the OPK's.  I used them for one month just to chart and see what my body was doing around ovulation so I knew I was "baby making" at the right time.  Turns out with the OPK's I found I actually ovulate later than what I thought I did.  Also turns out that is the month I got my BFP so I think the investment is worth it.  Good luck.

Yes, folic acid is the most important for preventing birth defects.  A multi-vitamin would be good for you, too, but wouldn't actually help you conceive or anything.  Good luck, here's hoping the third time IS the charm! :)

You can take Folic acid whilst you TTC just incase you do fall pregnant.
Are you using OPK's, this might helppies you??...
I don;t know about any other vitamins you can take but others on here do. I just know you CAN take Folic acid whilst TTC. :)
