Really? I always thought his position played a huge role in me not dialating. The Dr even mentioned that that was part of the reason I didnt progress. He was turning towards being transverse opposed to straight down. So an angle would be good way to put it. I guess my cervix just wasnt favorable for dialating at that time. Hopefully this time around things turn out different. I definitely want to try a vbac as long as its safe for both the baby and I. Your success story definitely motivates me. Thanks again!

Well my daughter was coming down and an angle and once they broke my water she was still at an angle, it wasn't until I was pushing that she turned. SHe wasn't sideways, but kinda half way between sideways and head down.

Your story sounds really familiar to one my Dr just shared with me on another Vbac patient of hers. She left the hospital at 4cm to go labor at home until finally the contractions became more regular. She got to the hospital and was 6cm. Thats when they decided to admit her. She also had a lil help with the pitocin to get things going. I reached 4 cm with my last child. Never went any further. I do remember her saying he wasnt coming down properly so there wasnt any pressure on my cervix to keep things going. That wasnt realized until during the c-section seeing the position he was in. Im just fear not going into labor on my own and ending up with a section anyways, weeks after my due date. Im really confused as to what I should do! I guess I have to get my list of questions ready for her!

I did go into labor on my own. BUT  I had to have pitocin and my water broken because I wasn't dilating fast. I was admitted at 6-7 cm after going home at 4 cm, my contractions were 5-7 min apart so they gave me the choice to stay and walk or go home and rest. I went back in and stayed 6-7 from 830ish am to 1130 and then they gave me the pit and broke my water. My dr said they can break your water to induce if you are dilating. Did you dilate at all before you were induced?

I love hearing stories like yours! Gives me sooooo much more hope. Did you go into labor on your own? Did you have to use any inducing agents? How many cm's were you when you were admitted? Sorry for all the questions but im really aiming for a Vbac. My vaginal delivery recovery was a walk in the park compared to the c-section recovery. Im just afraid I wont go into labor on my own. My Dr. specified inductions are off limits due to the risk of the rupturing scar. Im afraid of waiting, waiting, waiting, only to get a  c-section anyways. Any tips to get the labor going when the time comes?

My last delivery was via c-section because of a failed induction. I went in a few days before my due date and labored for 3 whole days and only reached 4cm. Because of the risk of infection at that point we decided it was best to do a section. My Dr. is willing to do what ever I decide. She wants me to try a vaginal because she thinks I may end up having another child seeings that im only 28 and not getting my tubes tied. For that she  figured its best to try a vbac for the sake of future pregnancies. I did have a successful vaginal delivery in 2001 with my daughter, but I was induced then too. Long 27 hours of labor before my princess came. And thats the thing, I never go into labor on my own. Always induced which isnt an option anymore after having a c section. So if I dont go into labor on my own i'll have no choice but to get a section :(

I'd try a vag birth if you can first. I had a c-section two and a half years ago and just delivered my baby girl vaginally five and a half weeks ago. Wouldn't change it for the world, so much better than a c-section!

A lot of women have successful vaginal delivery's after c-section. What was the reason for your fist c-section? There is a risk of uterine rupture though, but most doctors feel it is safe to have a vaginal deliver after c-section. For most women the benefits of not having a c-section, outweigh the risks. But this is really something you need to ask your doctor, because every women is different, and your doctor knows your medical history. Good luck and congratulations!
