Vanishing twin syndrome...

Has anyone gone thru vanishing twin syndrome? I got my first ultrasound 2 weeks ago and we saw two babies but only one heartbeat. The doc told me that it meant the twin would be absorbed and we wouldn't see it at the next ultrasound. However, i think she was a little quick to conclude that.

She measured the babies to be about a week apart. One at 7w3d, the other at 6w5d, i think.
So the smaller one could have just been too tiny to see a heartbeat.

I have a lot of hope that i have twins in there. Anyone have any advice?
I am finding out tomorrow if there are one or two in there. But it's been KILLING me to wait. ):

Nope! Sadly i have not. The twin has not grown or shrunk since last time (2 weeks ago).
However the other twin is doing perfectly.

I'm still completely heartbroken though. I almost broke down in her office trying to talk about it. )':
