you would think by now it should be ok to start trying, but that is just my opinion. Maybe go in and get checked out, and talk to your doc about it again!!
I'm no doctor and I haven't had an incompetent cervix. Because it can take up to a year to conceive, why not start actively trying? Most women's bodies are back to pre-pregnancy shape by 2 years after a birth.
Again, I don't know about the incompetent cervix. My guess is you'll be on bedrest the entire time.
Well I learned from my mistake with that lol... If your doctor thinks you should wait then my guess is you should, honestly. I have an incompetent cervix as well. I had my first born at 31 weeks, the doctor did ask me if I was planning on having another child soon and I told her no. Because I was only 17 and my son was an accidental pregnancy. So I'm guessing she meant to tell me to wait some, but since I mentioned I wasn't trying she didn't say anything. Well I got pregnant like 2 months later with my daughter. My entire pregnancy I had problems with my cervix, everytime I'd stand up I'd start dilating, even sitting up at all would make me dilate. So at 15 weeks they put me in the hospital 1hr and 1/2 away from my house, on completely flat bedrest, because I was dilated so far and my cervix was a 0.3. Pretty much was non-existant. I only made it to the day I turned 25 weeks before my water broke, causing me to deliver a 1lb 6oz baby girl. With an incompetent cervix your doctor is telling you to not get pregnant so soon so your cervix will have time to heal from your first pregnancy, if not your next pregnancy could go wrong very fast.
Oh and my doctor did mention 3 years is the best time to wait as well.. I've waited 3 years and still having some cervix problems. So I'd advice you to wait as long as you think you possibly can.
