Thank You guys so much for your help.
I have, but it's really finicky and not something I would trust. You have to be far along to detect it and NO test (OPK or HPT) will detect pregnancy after 3 days. Wait 2 weeks, as mentioned above, and take a good pregnancy test (First Response is the best) with first morning urine. Good luck!!!
Hmmm...I have never heard of using an OPK as a "pregnancy test" so I would not rely on it. I know waiting two weeks after ovulation (i.e. the TWW--2 week wait) is awful when you are really trying to get pregnant but it has to be done! I'd wait two weeks from when you ovulated to test with a home pregnancy test (HPT), not an OPK. If it is not positive, wait until you've missed your period and test again. We went through 3+ years of trying and tracking with OPKs and fertility treatments before we got pregnant so good luck to you!
We are TTC. Also we had sex the day before I ovulated. I heard that you could use the OPK too detect early pregnancy. I've used OPK before in the past and this is my first time ever getting a positive one! I'm just excited and hoping for the best! =D
*Also sperm can live in the right conditions for up to 5-7 days, so you did not have to have sex the day you ovulated to become pregnant.
OPKs can not generally tell you if you are pregnant, you would have to get a positive pregnancy test first before an OPK would ever show "positive for pregnancy". OPKs are not pregnancy tests, they test for luteinzing hormone (LH). Pregnancy tests test for HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) You have trace amounts of LH in your system at any given time. LH and HCG are almost the same, which is why you CAN have a positive OPK when you're pregnant, but I wouldn't recommend using one. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to several days for you to have a fertilized egg depending on when you ovulated and when you had sex. If you know you ovulated three days ago and you had sex that night, you most likely would conceive that night, BUT it takes 6-12 days for the egg to implant and another 24-48 hours for the HCG levels to be high enough for you to get a positive pregnancy test. So basically it's impossible for you to know if you are pregnant right now, and you may have either used the OPK incorrectly or it could be faulty, or you may not have actually ovulated when you thought you did and are about to now. If you want to test for pregnancy wait until your period is late, it's the best time to because any time before and you may get a false negative result, IF you are indeed pregnant.
You ovulated 3 days ago and you have been intemit? It takes about two days for the eggie to meet sperm and then to travel to the uteris. How long have you been TTC
You could be, but you have to wait at least 2 weeks before you can take a pregnancy test. Since you know you've already ovulated, an OPK won't tell you too much. Is there anything you were hoping to find out by using one?
