Please take all these ladies advice, they know what they're talking about. at almost 5 weeks I had nothing, not even a true sac, then a week later I had a HB!

I'm not sure why they are suggesting this when your Hcg is rising........Before doing anything, have another 1 or 2 Hcg levels drawn....For some reason alot of Dr.'s are very quick to make life altering decisions without enough proof to bakc them up....Definately more Hcg levels before you go ahead with anything.....

Let us know what happens.  I just had a D & C last week.  I was 6 1/2 weeks with twins. But mine stopped growing at 5w5d & no longer had heart beats.  But we were able to see it the week before.

I read a post earlier about a lady that was kinda in your boat... She went the first time at 6 weeks and didn't see a fetal pole or sac. So they made her appointment for a few days later and still nothing. So they made it a few days later, still nothing so they suggested doing a D&C, except she refused to have it done. Long story short she came back at 8.5 weeks to have an u/s because her body still hadn't miscarried, and they seen a heartbeat. Don't give up hope, hug those HCG numbers, because they're what tells you your pregnancy is viable. My doctor did tell me that seeing a yolk sac period is a healthy sign, it means you have a baby somewhere in there (may just be too small to see a heartbeat). I am still confused why they would worry you like that though, completely beyond me.

i agree with all the other ladies, dont get a d&c done. i wonder why they are being so quicck to rush it, most the time you cant see the heart beat until 6- 8 weeks (everyones different) and your levels are more than doubling..definately wait, or get a second opinion!

WAIT!!! Don't go through with it until you have exhausted all resources. I would call and reschedule the ultrasound for TWO WEEKS because they're not going to see much else in just a couple days.

There is a website called misdiagnosedmiscarriage (just add the www. and the .com to it) where women were told to have a D&C or that they were miscarrying and they refused and ended up having healthy babies!!!

Your HCG numbers sound EXCELLENT! They're supposed to double every 48-72 hours. Yours sound perfect. I would not get the D&C! Wait 2 weeks. Just call them and tell them you need to reschedule. They cannot and SHOULD NOT pressure you to come in sooner. If they do, go someplace else!!!

thats stupid...i had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and they couldnt see anything, no yolk, no fetal echo ...nothing ..they seen a cavity but only put it down as possible gestational sac. my bub is fine, I'm 17 weeks now.

I would def. tell them you want to wait until at least 8 weeks... Sometimes you can't see the baby until then...... And your HCG level look's great so this def. sounds like a viable pregnancy...... I would wait.. Keep us posted.

I would definitely wait another week or so. Thursay is not enough time for anything to change. Good luck to you

wait.  sometimes the fetal pole does not show up until your in your 6th week.  that is ridiculous that the doctor would suggest that so soon.

I only had a gestational sac at 6 weeks and my doctor had me wait a whole week to get another US to make sure things weren;t progressing.  Keep your head up and wait til at least you are at the 7 week mark before you make any decisions.

Yeah, I would definitely wait 2-3 weeks! I don't see why they even suggested such a thing at 5 weeks! I would definitely be getting a second opinion or changing doctors.

I don't know why.....I would get a second opionion and make them wait longer.  I had a US at that point in my pregnancy and they told me to come back in 2 weeks for a follow up and there his little heart beat was.  WAIT!!!!  Especially if your arn't bleeding or having severe cramps.

By the way, your HCG is fine really. It means your pregnancy is progressing. Yolk and sac is a good sign as well. Usually they can't even see heartbeat til 6 weeks I thought =/.   Even at 7 weeks they couldn't see mine. I would wait as long as possible.

Don't have a D&C! This happened to me! I cried for like 2 weeks cuz they said I didn't have a fetal pole and they were worried, but when I went at 8 weeks I had a little peanut and a heartbeat!
