Sounds great!!!
Most women feel first movements around 16 weeks and up!
I felt the earliest flutters at around 12 wks and the first major kicks (which my husband and I were able to feel externally) at 20 wks! Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy!
Well I got back from my dr appt not too long ago. All went well...I got to see the baby and oh my gosh it looks like a baby!!! I have the pic in my profile and I am so excited!! Its little arms and legs were all over the place!!! Its def a going to be a kicker :)
My OB is charging 2060 and some change and my part of that is going to be 206. Which has me paying 42 for 4 months then 38 for the last month. My sonograms are 15 a piece and the NST is also 15--although hopefully that wont be an issue!!
My husband and I are so excited...he just keeps talking about how he can't believe it(he calls it a he!) moves so much!!! Can't wait till I can feel it!! How much longer do I have (I am 9.5 Weeks)???
here in Kentucky all pregnant women receive a medical card as far as i know! i have not met a woman who had plenty of income be denied a medical card........ which it only lasts until the postpartum check up but is great because it covers everything, except for the nice private rooms at the hospital which is only $50.00 out of pocket! i received a paper before i got my medical card that included: delivery, OB appointments, 1 ultrasound, all other tests (pap's, blood work, etc.) for $2160.00. then my medical card backed up and paid for any work hospital/doctor visits that occurred 2 weeks prior to confirming pregnancy. it is really great!
Thanks for all the info....I will let you know how it goes....I would love to not have to worry about this but like Joy said I love my tax refund!!! :)
In NZ (my home country) health care is nominal too - hospital stays used to be free up until about 20 years ago. People can get health insurance but I would guess over 90% of people dont. The health insurance essentially pays for the best doctors NZ has to offer. They work at private hospitals that the average person doesnt have access too and health insurance also circumvents the long wait times that are often associated w/ "public" hospitals (e.g. if you need an operation, you may have to wait months, even years for it to happen).
blueeyedtabbycat- you pay your healthcare through taxes. It'd be taken out of your paycheck. I personally love my tax refund every year and I don't mind paying for quality healthcare.
Wouldnt that be nice!! I would love to not worry about healthcare coverage!! But how the heck do the doctors get paid?
Marisa- but aren't your taxes extraordinarily high? I think Obama is wanting to make our healthcare system more like Canada's healthcare system.
You ladies should all move to Canada where you don't have to pay to have a baby...its covered...all OB appointment are free, hospital stays are free.....
Oh and usually your prenatal bill (usually around $2200+) doesn't include sonograms. That's a separate bill, too.
Let us know how your bills will be tomorrow! I find this fascinating.
I just had my first appointment today. I talked with the financial lady in the office and she broke down my prenatal care. First off, I have a PPO. Not sure if HMOs are different. Like spade, my prenatal care comes to an estimated $2360.00. My insurance is paying 80% of that so I have to pay $399.38.
They broke it down in payments for the next five months (April-September) and my payment will be $79.88 each of those five months.
The hospital you deliver at will also have their own charges, so keep that in mind. If you have insurance you'll finish paying your deductible and then up to $1000-2000 after your deductible is met depending on your coverage.
My ob charges $500 a visit with no insurance
My OBGYN charged about $2200 for all "standard" prenatal visits, one ultrasound, and standard tests (gestational diabetes, strep B culture etc) and a "standard" vaginal delivery - this will be different with every doctor/hospital/state etc. but you should be able to get a breakdown of the costs from your OBGYN if you ask.
Anything outside the realm of "normal" such as needing additional appointments/tests or surgery during delivery was an extra cost on top of the $2200. In my case, I needed a minor episiotomy and three stitches which was considered "surgery" and cost an extra $2000! I had/have insurance which covered most of it but you have to watch out for those little extras.
