Worried I'm not eating enough

for the past 2-3 weeks I'm just not hungry I feel bad if I don't eat but then if I eat I feel bad.....I didn't eat supper last night and this morning I wasn't hungry but made myself eat cause I'm worried my babies aren't getting enough nutrients......is this normal? I'm 13-1/2 weeks with twins I would think I'd be hungry as a horse......does this mean something is wrong with my babies?

Hi Brown Eyed Gurl, I feel the same way - not hungry.  I just found out I was pregnant less than a week ago; about 3 weeks pregnant and I have lost my appetite.  Even before I knew, I didn't want anything to eat.  I've been having to just sit an eat even though I'm not hungry, but I can't eat much.  So, with that and the stories of the other ladies here, I guess it can be normal.

Hey I am the same way. I havent lost or gain and I am 12 wks 2 days. I dont want to eat anything. The food that I love make me want to puke. Although I havent yet. I have to force the food down and even then its not much I can eat... The only thing I can eat with no problems is cold fruit. I am putting all my fruit in the fridge and thats what I eat most even cold banannas! I am sure your babies are fine like everyone else has said! Try to eat what you can and take care.......

Me too. I am 18 weeks 5 days. I lost 8 lbs and then gained 1 thats it. I was very worried, but my doctor said she wouldn't worry about it until my next appointment. So I guess we will see.

Keep in mind that the babies will take from you what they need. Therefore it is important to keep yourself healthy with food and other nutrients. You will suffer before the baby will. I've lost 6 lbs since my pregnancy started and my Dr said it is perfectly fine. He would let me know when there is something to worry about. Like you, nothing sounds/tastes good anymore. As horrible as it may be, try to choke that food down. If you're not eating much at meals, try to snack more and always drink plenty of fluids. I forget how important that is sometimes. You might even talk to your Dr about other vitamins and such that will help to supplement what you are getting out of your diet right now. I know my Dr has suggested calcium pills. I hope this gets better for you. I know exactly how you feel and I only have one lil princess growing in me.

I'm 16 weeks 1 day..I've lost 6-7 lbs so far.  Never gained anything, just lost. I get hungry, but my probably is that NOTHING sounds good...not even things I normally LOVE.  When I try to make myself eat whatever I choose usually tastes like cardboard, then I feel sick after forcing myself to eat a few bites. I'm normally a junk food junky but don't even want junk food anymore.  Fortunately I started this pregnancy out with plenty of "stores" so I guess right now the baby and I are running on reserves so to speak.

Brandi even if you don't eat much the babies can be very healthy. I have a friend of mine she gained only 7lb with her daughter. another was dieting during pregnancy and had a boy 9lb and is only 5 ft tall. So i think when you eat a lot is you who gain weight not the babies. The baby gain weight only the last 2 months. With my last pregnancy i was 7 pounds heavier in just 8 weeks. Now i haven't gained not 1 even though is still early. How have been your symptoms so far? Any morning sicnes or something else?

I didn't test this morning. I had to go so bad and my kids were up, so I just went to the bathroom and went to take care of them. I'm trying to not think about it really! The test directions say that if you do not know when you ovulated then you should test 19 days from the time you BD, so the 24th would be 19 days since. I'll probably break down and do it tomorrow! Still no AF!

This happened to me when I was pregnant with my youngest. I gained less than 25 lbs but she was a whopping 8.5 lbs! She was and still is a chunk!

Anyway, you have to go on auto-pilot on this point out. I never felt like eating, like I said, so I would just eat 3 small meals and a snack or two automatically.

It does not mean anything is wrong with the babies! It has everything to do with you and how you react to all these hormones. Make sure you drink plenty of water and take your prenatals on days where you can't get anything down!
