a BIG mistake!!!

Hello!  I am not even sure I am pregnant.  II took an ovulation test on May 11th and had sex with my husband just to get pregnant..  Well tonight, he and I had a fight and I had 2 shots of Irish Cream.  I know in my heart that it was a bad decision and now I don't know what to do.  I guess what I am asking is what are the chances that even if I am pregnant I didn't just kill my baby and the baby will be born healthy?  I am so scared and beating myself up over this and I wish SO much I could go back in time and undo that..  I'm so scared I'll never be a mother because my husband and I have been trying for a baby for 8 months already and still haven't ovulated..  until this past May 11th..  And now it's like I'm slapping God in the face for giving me the gift of ovulation and the chance to have a baby..  Should I talk to my ob-gyn tomorrow?..  Is it too late?

Calm down!! Many many women have gone out and gotten rip roaring drunk not knowing they were pregnant and their babies were perfectly fine.  Two shots of baileys isn't going to harm anything.  This is really a mountain out of mole hill situation.  PLease stop beating yourself up.  You didn't cause any harm.

i had 2 or 3 glasses of wine before i found out i was pregnant - you really have nothing to worry about. also there is not much alcohol in irish cream shots anyway. just dont drink anymore until you know youre not pregnant. Good luck! :)

don't worry, 2 shots won't hurt your chances of becoming pregnant and could actually improve them.  Alcohol thins the blood similar to the same effect taking a baby asprin to aid implantation could do.  There are lots of women who drink regularly until they find out they are pregnant and they go on to have healthy babies.

You will be fine.. so will your baby - I did not know I was prego with my second until 8 weeks and the week prior I was at a party and was drunk.... I did not ovulate, was told I could not get pregnany on my own and was on birth control - so I really had NO idea.... what you are going through is normal - the fighting and the feelings you have about TTC - have you seen a fertility specialist yet... if not - they can help you with regulating your cycle, timing your ovulation and such - it worked for me on my first.... Good Luck!

I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, I found out I was pregnant when I was 3/4 weeks gone, I hadn' t planned to get pregnant and had been out most weekends and got rat arsed, I'd also had sunbeds 2/3 times a week and been smoking. Doctor said everything should be fine as it was so early..and just to ensure it all stopped. Which obv it has.

My husband and I weren't even trying to conceive when we got pregnant the first time - so, needless to say, I was drinking as normal (socially on the weekend) and had a few drinks before I found out I was pregnant (since we weren't trying, I didn't find out until I was 7 weeks along because I never thought to test until AF was 2 weeks late).  Anyway, DS was born perfectly healthy.

We were trying to conceive when I got pregnant the last time.  I had a couple of glasses of wine during the 2WW, but that's it. He is also wonderfully healthy!!

In both cases, once I found out I was pregnant, all drinking STOPPED.

I, like many other women, had this same question on my mind when I found out I was pregnant. My doctor told me that he has never seen a baby born with FAS that was a result of the mother drinking up until she knew she was pregnant (I'm talking about the first 4 to 5 weeks). FAS typically will develop as a result of continuous drinking throughout the pregnancy. So of course stop drinking now (I'm sure you already have) and try your best to not worry

Having alcohol this early (if you are pregnant) isn't healthy for you, but won't harm the baby. It usually takes 5-8 day for an egg to fertilise and implant into your uterus and until it does nothing you eat or drink will effect your baby.

Just steer clear of alcohol in the future.
