belly button hernia in 5 week old?

hi ladies.
i was wondering if any of you have had an experience with belly button hernias? i think my son has one, he is 5 weeks old. there is a little piece of extra skin (kinda looks like fat) that is bright pink in his belly button. it doesnt seem to be hurting him. what are your thoughts on this? ive done some researching online, and apparently its quite common and in most cases will go away on its own. i would appreciate any info you can give me

my youngest had one as well. his was awful :( every time he cried this yellowish skin came down where his belly button was. it went away over time and he was fine!

Hunter has one, I asked his dr. about it and she said it is normal unless it doesnt go away. It has got in a little better! Dont worrie about it, but do tell your dr. at his next appt.
