I didn't see this post had recent responses before I posted another one! :p thanks ladies!!:)
I've yet to pump two ounces total from both breasts combined. My boobies are shy with my pump. Lol. Aidyn is getting enough because he is having a good amount of wet/dirty diapers and I can hear him gulping. Also, your supply will probably increase when you get him home. Mine increased a good amount once I got him home and could put him to breast. If I were you I would pump once or twice at night an otherwise get some rest. I know I sleep in one to two hour shifts before I'm putting him back to the breast.
I think it took about a week or two for me to get more than 2ozs out of each breast, after that I could usually get 4-6ozs, your milk just came in though! I hope he starts eating good for you, poor little guy!! I'm sure he'll come around quick! :)
Im getting about 2 oz from each side every pump is that average?
@ktowne hes doin ok. Hes not eating too great. So they hooked him up to a feeding tube hopefully he doesn't need it long. He also a lil jaundice but im not worried about that I know its common
No you haven't messed up. If you still are having supply issues or feel like you are you can use mothers milk tea or fenugreek an it'll help boost your supply.
I'm sure if you start pumping now you'll get your supply back up! How is your little guy doing?
Alright looks like I will be setting a couple alarms during the night to pump. Have I messed up goin this long without pumping at night my milk came in Monday evening
You may not totally dry up, but you'll see a significant decrease in your supply.
Yes. Your prolactin levels are highest from midnight to four am. Meaning you'll get more during these pumping sessions and it helps you to produce more. You should at least aim for two pumps during the night. Bfing is supply and demand. If baby or pump isn't demanding, you won't be able to supply. It's not recommended to drop a pump until bfing is well established which is usually after 12 weeks.
