bright red bleeding!

So I was supposily 6wks 4days pregnant on june 16th. My fiance and I decided to have intercourse and afterwards there was bright red blood everywhere, about 4-5 inch spot on the bed, all over me and him(sorry if TMI) my doctors has a 24hr call line, I called and they called my OB. Oh by the way my last pregnancy i had blood and miscarried. My OB got on the phone with me and said since I was suppose to be almost 7wks according to my first day of LMP that she wanted me in for an ultrasound to see if we could see a heartbeat.She said i may just have hit my cervix to hard during sex...but there was ALOT of blood!! The next day I went for my ultrasound. The High Risk Pregnancy Doctor saw me. He asked me a series of questions, cause there was no heartbeat. but the problem with me is I did not get a positive test result till a week after i had missed my period, which was June 7th. So he told me that what he was seeing was a yoke sac and a gest sac and that It could very well be normal since i may only be 3 1/2-4weeks from conception so a week behind 5 weeks 4days. I have to go for a repeat ultrasound on July 1st which is 2 weeks. They also ran labs on me my progesterone came back 2164.8 which is where they thought i should be according to my previous hcg levels and my progesterone was 27.3 which was also very good. I am scared though... I mean last time i miscarried. I dont want to lose this one. I know everything sounds ok, but to me it still feels kinda wrong. I wish they would have ran anouth hcg level to ensure me that they were still rising and not falling. Has anyone ever had something similar happen and was the outcome good??? PLEASE i need some reassuring and HELP!!. I am praying my fiance and I hear a heartbeat on July 1st

Hi.  I'm sorry you are so scared.  I understand how you feel, though.  I've been there, too.  But, your numbers looks so great and chances are, you are just a week behind which means, they won't see anything on the ultrasound yet.  Try to breathe deep and relax until your next ultrasound.  Also, my best friend had a lot of bright red bleeding when she was pregnant, also.  Her daughter is now 1 1/2 years old.  So, try to remain hopeful.  I know it's hard and it's scary and frustrating b/c you have no control, but try to breathe deep and relax.  Keep me posted on how you are doing.  I'll keep you in my prayers.

yep, i gushed red blood and had cramps between 9 weeks and 5 days pregnant and 16 weeks. it was a threatened miscarriage due to bleeds in and under the amniotic sac. by 18 weeks, the bleeds had healed and now i'm nearly 33 weeks with a healthy boy. DO NOT HAVE SEX. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys

Bright red blood is scary.  It happened to me at about 13 weeks.  I went to the ER and the ultrasound showed that my baby was fine.  They thought I had what was called a subchorionic bleed, which could be what you have.  That is basically a clot or bleeding somewhere near the edge of your placenta.  In most cases they resolve on their own... Listen to the previous post, NO SEX.  Mine turned out the be a misdiagnosis and I was actually having a miscarriage of a twin, which is another possiblity.  Hang in there until your next ultrasound and pray for that little ticker to be there.  Lots of blessings for you and a healthy baby!

My fiance and I are definately not having sex... I dont want to lose this one. I am terrifie of it. I have not had cramps and my OB says that is a good sign. the bright red bleeding stopped after sex and now it is only alittle purplish red mixed with mucous. So I am hoping that is a good sign. I just am praying to see a heartbeat in 2 weeks. I think if that happens i will feel less stressed about my little baby making it. CONGRATS on the baby boy!!!

I first found out June 7th. I did take a test earlier and and thought i saw a line but it was to faint to be sure on June 5th. June 8th I got my first hcg levels drawn and they were 50.3.

Thank you. I just wish i could enjoy being pregnant once.. so far my first ended bad and now this one has me on end. Trying to stay calm and positive and not stressed out is so hard when you dont know if your baby is going to make it, if i am going to hear it's little heartbeat in 2weeks or not. I just keep telling myself if i can get to 12weeks everything will be ok. but that seems so hard cause it is still 6weeks away. Thank you though for your support

sorry - just realized I asked a question you had already answered in your first post.

Well you can DEFINITELY be a week behind estimated gestational age if you ovulated a little later than expected.  This is very common and would explain why not a lot was seen on the ultrasound.  Since the bleeding occurred directly after sex that could definitely be the cause.  Bleeding is not "normal" during pregnancy but it does happen in 25% of cases.  If the bleeding is heavy, accompanied by clots, and severe cramping that would be a bad sign and it doesnt sound like that was the case with you.

I do believe there is hope and that the outcome may be positive.  Hang in there.

I am really hoping that is the case. Yeah i had a miscarrage before.. it was bright red blood but no clots, no severe pain, today 2 days later it seems all the blood has stopped. Which i would say is a good sign. I just wish there was some way to ease all the worring though. Thank you for the support

It may have just been because of the sex. I had the same problem at about 6 weeks. They did an u/s and everything was fine. However, I have been on bed rest ever since. My bleeding does not seem to stop. It is getting better since now it's not bright red, but I still have brown discharge with mucus (sorry tmi). If your bleeding has stopped and there was not a lot ever since, I'm sure you'll be fine.

how far are you now. yeah mine stopped almost immediately after intercourse, i mean the next day i had some purplish/red mixed with mucous, but now 2 days later there is nothing but white discharge. SO i am hoping i am fine to. i think because of my first m/c i am worrying to much now, cause i dont want a repeat m/c. they are doing another ultrasound on july 1st to see if it is viable or not. I am PRAYING my fiance and i see a heartbeat

Update on me for anyone curious. 4 days after the bright red bleeding, i did start bleeding again. My doctor told me to just sit and wait it out. I have an ultra sound July 1st. to see if there is a heartbeat. I am hoping there is

Yeah my fiance and i were a bit shocked too. i mean HCG levels will tell you if your miscarrying or not. I will let everyone know if there is a heartbeat or not. Oh the bleeding did stop for now. so i am hoping that is a good sign, which i think it is

Hang in there hun.....there are so many women who bleed in the beginning of pregnancy....I am one who spots for atleast a couple of days.....I did with my last and have a healthy little girl...and my pregnancy prior to that ended in a m/c.
Hang in there...and if there is anything else going on or anything else happens, call your doctor and get in ASAP!

I am currently 8w 3d and I have bright red bleeding everytime I have intercourse. I have been put on bedrest andthey just basically told me not to lift anything heavy and to try to stay off my feet. Hope everything turns out good for you!! Can't they do an u/s earlier than July 1st? I called my doctor and they told me to go in the next day. You can give it a try!!!

with my first son every time I had sex or had an exam I would bleed red just as you describe.  With this pregnancy (currently 21w 5d) I bled much more bright red.  Nothing had to trigger it this time.  It just happened for about 4 weeks.  It did get worse with exams and sex and the doc suggested not having sex because it said it was an implantation bleed that I would not let heal.  He could see it on the u/s and he described it like a scab.  Every time you tear it off it will bleed and take longer to heal.

When i go for my exam on wed. I am going to ask them about if they can see where i was bleeding from. Especially if everything is ok. The no sex thing *****, but if it makes this a successful pregnancy i will do whatever it takes. Thanks for all the support so far.

So tomorrow is finally my ultrasound to tell me if everything is going ok or not.. i am nervous. I have not had anymore bleeding but it is so hard to wait. It has already felt like forever since the first ultrasound and it has only been 2 weeks. everyone i talked said how fast the 9 months flew. I am hoping to know that feeling cause right now each day feels like a week. I will post what happens later tom. unfortunately right after the ultrasound i need to go to work until 7pm. So it will be on tom night though. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for a heartbeat!

hey i just read your post and i can so relate to you...i am going through the exact same thing now.  i have bleed once a week for the past 3 weeks.  its always bright red and sometime very small clots.  its kinda like a gush of blood that goes away!  its a roller coaster ride wondering and waiting.  my hcg rise but only about every 4 days.  i had 3 u/s already!  1st one was monday and there was nothing.  i bled tuesday.....then another u/s thursday!  still nothing, its a major disappointed to see nothing!  i cried........today i had an u/s and there was a sac and possible a baby!  but guess what i bled again today (bright red, its gushes then goes away, last about an hr) the wait and worry are making me crazy.  i have another u/s tuesday july7th........maybe we can see baby and heartbeat!  i have hcg on thursday!  i pray to god my numbers double...every time i bleed i think they are going to drop.........keep me posted
