brown/dark brown discharge normal?

hi everyone! i'm due to see my OB end of this week. but i'd like to know if it is normal to have brown-dark brown-almost black discharge? i have missed my period for 18 days now (the only sexual activity i had was heavy petting/fingering - does this cause pregnancy?) and have tested negative for home pregnancy test last sunday (is it accurate?) but since late last week i have been having brown to dark brown to almost black discharge. it's not heavy as my usual mentruation :( i'm kinda scared now :(

gillianl & tarajanes, thank you so much. :) i'm relieved to know that these are normal. i'm still keeping the doctor's appt on saturday to be on the safe side. but thank you a lot, it made me worry free. :)

Not uncommon to have off periods.as for pregnancy as previous poster said intercourse is needed.

i usually get that before a period so i think it's pretty normal or my consultant wold have told me otherwise.  You can't get pregnant from heavy petting/fingering only by intercourse.  I don't think you have anything to worry about.  Best of luck!!
