calories??

Hey ladies I just have a question. I know your normal calorie intake is supposed to be 3000 a day when your pregnant but I recently just hit my 3rd trimester and my nurse told me that in your 3rd trimester you should eat an extra 1000 calories so that would be 4000 a day,now I've been trying to do my best to add up all of my daily calories and I don't think I'm getting the full 3000 let alone the 4 because I'm not as hungry anymore since I hit my 3rd trimester, and I'm just wondering how some of u ate while you were pregnant and if you ate the whole 3-4 thousand calories a day and if any of you think that this will make my baby have a low birth weight??? But I will say when I was at my last appt my Dr measured my belly and she said the measurement was good...idk I'm paranoid lol...

My doctor said an additional 300 calories in 3rd trimester. I wouldn't eat an extra 1000 everyday. Just eat like normal and your baby will be fine.

I mean, basically don't worry about eating a certain number of calories, worry about eating foods that are nutritious for you and baby and eat regularly. :-)

I wouldn't worry about it. If your baby is healthy and you're eating normally, theres no need to stress. This is Mt second baby and I'm 33 weeks today but I've never counted calories. I just eat when I'm hungry. Just don't skip meals and you'll be fine.

I haven't heard those numbers before. The most important thing is nutrition more than counting calories. you should be getting lots of protein and green veggies for ask the nutrients they provide. If you're doing that and eating three decent meals a day with a healthy snack between you should be doing great.
