With my first I didn't have to "cope" until 6-7cm and I breathed through them and rocked my hips back and forth. With my second I just walked through my contractions until I was pushing.
Breathing absolutely is amazing worked great. My nurse kept getting in my face and telling me to calm down and relax and it was awesome. Also, I took a hot shower for a bit, and that helped slightly. But mainly, the epidural worked the best
I found bending over a bed or table and rocking my hips helped. Breathing for sure. When I held my breath (instinct) they hurt a lot more.
Breathing and rocking from side to side
I had my brother read a list of hard words to spell. I would try to spell them for him and it took my mind off the pain. And "pain is in the mind" ;) give it a try
Well, I screamed like a sissy with my 1st, lol didnt help. With my 2nd, I had an awesome nurse that stopped me from yelling and calmly held my hand and told me to breathe in through my nose and out my mouth deeply through each one. It REALLY helped me get through them easier. Its funny how fear and pain can get u so amped up that u forget to simply BREATHE :)
I watched some moms blog video that had ten tips.. One of her tips was think of contractions like your pushing it out of your body, sounds weird but they only last about 30 seconds so to keep a positive mind and act as if the contractions were going through your head and out your feet... Hopefully when the day comes it'll be a lot easier done than said ahaha!
BREATHE?!!!! That is all you can do.
