Hello, . I heard something and I was wondering if anyone knows if its true. I was told that if you are intimate with someone who uses cocaine that you are likely to get urinary tract. I am 5months pregnant and found out that my husband is using, I use to get alor of urinary tract infections and was told that this could be the cause.

No problem, I was told with my oldest son that cocaine can cause UTI's. Also, cocain is excreted out in sweat pores, so be careful when he touches you because the cocain can be transfered from his sweat to your body, which my doc also informed me of. So even if he doesnt get clean after the baby is born, id be very careful when he holds him/her, as the cocain can be transfered to the newborn. It has happened to my oldest son when he was an infant, and found out when he got awfully ill and he had a blood test done, and found cocain in very small amounts in his system. Not trying to scare you, but it is indeed an awful drug to be messing with. My ex never got clean, needless to say its why I call him my ex ;) Anyways I hope he finds strength to come clean, I will be praying for your family.

WOW....I knew that it could cause birth defects but never knew about the UTI's.....thanks for the info. BTS1022!

I appreciate you'll responses, yes I was told that by my gyn, I hope he does as well, but even more I pray my baby is spared.

Infact it can cause UTI in women, along with a lot of other issues, especially if he shoots up, im sure you know the problems with that. It can also cause his sperm to be deformed, causing major deformaties and other issues in the development of the fetus. Not trying to scare you, but this is what I was told, when I found out my ex was using cocaine when I got pregnant. Along with Kelly, I hope he cleans himself up before baby comes.

I've never heard that and can't think of one reason why it would cause a UIT.......I hope that he cleans himself up before your baby is born though.....Good luck
